was it really that bad ?

Yes it was really that bad. I complained and they sent me a 30 euro voucher off my next say :rotfl: as if Ill be going back. They didnt even get my name right in the letter, addressed it to Claire when I clearly stated my name in my complaintWins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
After looking on this site and several others I notice a lot of people are saying that the Santa Fe is quite tatty and run down, is this the case?????
Also others are saying that the sequioa is not child friendly, and only has one lift for the entire hotel????????
Sounds like we might be booking the Cheyenne when dds passport returns, as this seems to have better reviews!!!!!0 -
Hi Bailee06,
The Disney Hotels have different categories. The Disneyland Hotel is 5 star or five star equivalent and overlooks the park. The New York is 4 star and second closest. It faces the Sequoia and Newport Bay across the lake. They are 3 star or equivalent. Then you have the Cheyenne and Santa Fe which are 2 star or equivalent. I wouldn't therefore compare the Cheyenne to the Sequoia, I'd compare it to the Santa Fe, and I'd compare the Sequoia to Newport Bay.
Both the Sequoia and Newport Bay are nice hotels, though I can't remember how many lifts they have. One doesn't sound right, though I understand that there are certain parts of the hotel that cannot be accessed by lift and may be problematic for people with buggies. If this is a concern, I'd contact Disney reservations in the UK and ask them. Of these two, I'd choose Sequoia for an Autumn/Winter stay and Newport for Spring/Summer because of their theming.
Of Cheyenne and Santa Fe, I'd choose Cheyenne everytime. As I mentioned, I just think the theming is that much better (for the same reason I don't like the Hotel New York, it just looks like an office block - I'd rather stay at the Newport Bay or Sequoia Lodge).
It is also worth looking at the four hotels at Val de France: The Explorers and Kyriad (both 2 star) and Holiday Inn and Dream Castle (both 4 star). You can often get a 4 star at these for the same price as a two star at Disney (though you may not get all the same benefits - so double check).
Of these: Explorers has a great pool, Kyriad has very comfy beds. My vote as an adult goes to Kyriad, but as a kid would go to Explorers. Of Holiday Inn and Dream Castle, I like both hotels, but my vote goes to the Holiday Inn purely because you get coffee making facilities in your room, though the rooms in the Dream Castle can be bigger and nicer if you are lucky with the allocation. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Hi Bailiee,
We stayed in the Sequoia Lodge and we only found one lift. however, the prices they give you are for the Montana Lodges - these are around the back of the hotel and are either ground or first floor so you carry the buggy up. if you choose a Montana ROOM or a Suite (both of which you will pay extra for) then you will be in the main hotel so make sure you get priced up for the lodges and you'll be fine.
I did like the Sequoia, I would not say it is not child friendly at all, just right for us with a 4 and 5 year old. The rooms are clean and although we nightmare neighbours infront and to the side we did not hear a thing (arrived after the park had closed to find them arriving with loads of cans and bottles for a big party, there was a group of around 30 people, but in the end we did not hear a thing as the rooms are well built. The Santa Fe is an extra 10 minutes walk to the Sequoia Lodge, we used to walk home each evening around the lake so it saved waiting for buses. I thought the Newport Bay and the Hotel New York look more for adults with their theming so neither took my fancy at all and I fet the same when I was there, the SL suited us down to the ground. Be sure to check out Ranger Goofy in the kids area in the morning at breakfast - ooh, they also have a big coffee urn and disposable cups set up at the back exit near the lake so you can grab a coffee before you walk to the park!!0 -
we did the disney trip for 4 nights for for 4 of us for about £830 feb holidays. We drove from manchester to dover and stayed at a travel lodge for £19.00. we took the ferry from dover to calis 9am ish cost £63 return. stayed in the holiday inn for 4 nights £352 then had a five day ticket which i think cost £84.00 each which we bought on line 2 adults 1 child and one two year old which is free. We booked the ferry for a 1am sailing so we had a full day in the park before we drove home. kids slept all the way. driving was no too bad at all in france most of it was dual carriage except the last 10 mins which was a bit hairy. petrol there and back was about £1500

I'm after booking a trip to Disney Paris in June but am having no luck booking Eurostar through the Disney site. I'd rather book everything together, can anyone recommend a site where I can book it all in one please???

Hi am looking for a day return to Disneyland paris by Eurostar looking to go on 24th April
any recomendations ?
Thanks0 -
Daves Wife, if you book a package you'll receive your Eurostar Vouchers and hotel vouchers, nothing more, no reps or anything. You can 'check in' at the Disney Express on the top floor of the Eurostar at Disney leave your cases and get your tickets (they do this on the train sometimes if you book with an agent).
You can book via Cresta but they wanted to charge us £1200 (2 ad, 2 ch, seq lodge with kids free) and we booked the same holiday ourselves for £600 so I really would say to look around and try to book it yourself as it is the same. Check the hotel you want on the www.disneylandparis.co.uk website (go via Quidco) then check the train you want is available too on the Eurostar website and then once the hotel is booked call Disney (number on the site and on your booking) ans book your Disney Express for £14 per adult (kids free).
RuffRider:
You can get a day return but you would get around 4-5 hours in Disney park, if it is busy you'll get a couple of rides in, that is all. However you should be able to book this ticket via the Eurostar website. Earliest train goes from Ashford at 9.23, it arrives in DLP around 12.30-1.00 and leaves again at 7.30 (check in is at 6pm but there will be a queue when it opens).

Thanks for the info - booked the park tickets via their websie got a bit of a discount and Eurostart wasnt too bad 220
Thanks again0 -
Thanks blue_monkey. I finally found a travel agent with Eurostar availability and their price is roughly the same as booking through DisneylandParis.com!
Now I have another dilemma - I had decided on the Sequoia as our hotel of choice (have stayed in Santa Fe once before and wanted a pool this time) and it turns out the Sequoia pool is scheduled to be closed the EXACT dates we want to travel
Now I need to decide between the Newport or the New York, price difference between them is about £80 for a 4 night stay.
