If you want to find the quietest times then go to http://hotels.disneylandparis.co.uk/index.xhtml choose a hotel, any hotel, and go to book now. Where it asks for the arrival date click on the calendar icon and a little calendar pops up. It shows quiet times in yellow, light blue for busier times and dark blue for very busy times.

We have found that the week after the French Bank Holiday in November is very quiet - so quiet you end up going around and around on the rides without getting off!! That is Monday to Thurs, this is the weekend we always go as it is the start of Xmas and it is after the Firework Celebrations so many people have gone home after this leaving the park empty.

Make sure you avoid French Bank Holidays at all costs, the first time we went on the Friday it suddenly was packed and someone told us it was a French Bank Holiday so everyone took a long weekend and we gave up queueing to get into Disneyland Park, went for LUNCH and then got in afte 1pm. A complete waste of an entire day - thankfully it was our last one, it would have be miffed if it was the start of our holiday.

You are better off booking the holiday DIY, if you want a coach holiday look for the Nationa Express/Eurolines option and get one of the kids travel free tickets, it lasts a year and costs £8 for one adult:1 Child or £16 for 2 adults:2kids and it means the kids travel free so you can get there for around £60 per adult/child combo (don't forget quidco too!!). The hotel book as above and then get quidco from them too!!

  • Hi All,

Booked to go to DLP on May 11th for 3 nights in the Dream Castle Hotel. Just wondering if I could pick people's brains please on a few things!

    - how far is the hotel from DLP? Does it take long to get there from the Eurostar?

    - I have been told by a friend that the shuttle buses are a bit chaotic from the hotel to the park, does anyone know if that's the case?

    - need to buy tickets next - is there enough to do in DLP for 3 1/2 days? My daughters are 4 and 1 and the eldest does adore disney - just wondering how many days I need to buy for - its either that or drag them around Paris?!

    - any hints on the cheapest place to buy tickets?

Thanks to all - I don't mean to be a pain, it just seems better to pick the brains of all you experienced travellers.

    many thanks

    P.s I am getting quite excited now..........:j

    Hi Everyone

Im taking the missus and the two kids to Paris for her 40th Birthday in mid-April. She thinks shes off to London for a few days, but I've booked us on Leisure Direct class on Eurostar to Disneyland Paris, so she'll have a nice surprise when we get to London and I tell her. She's just recovering from cancer and has had a really rough year. Therefore, has anyone got any good ideas how I can make her 40th really special when were over there? We're already booked into the Disneyland Hotel, but I want it to be a Birthday she never forgets.

    Hi yummymummywales,

I've stayed at the Dream Castle and absolutely loved it. I'm going to come over all MSE now: If you haven't booked the breakfast (which is quite expensive), take a travel kettle, some plastic cups and some brekkie items as its cheaper to eat in the room. However, don't do what I do and take packs of shortbread biscuits (the finger ones) as they show up similar to drugs on the scanning machine and I had to experience the man getting my knickers out and swabbing my bag with one of those thingies...

Its easy to get from the Eurostar to the hotel. Walk out of the left hand side of the station and go to the first bus stop (not shelter) over the other side of the bus lane and it should be marked with the name of the hotels. You're looking for a bright pink bus with the hotel names on a matrix board. Depending on the time of day they run every 8-20 minutes. They can get busy after parades and when the park closes, but generally not too bad. It can be a bit of a free-for all with people rushing to all the doors though so have your pushchair folded and ready and tots in arms prepared for the scrum (well, you are from Wales so your ability to do this should be genetic ;)).

There is quite a lot to do. If you don't want to traipse into Paris you may want to also go to the Sealife Centre at Val d'Europe as an alternative to the parks or a trip into Paris. It's just one stop on the metro. I have never had the luxury of 3 and a half days there, but I can fill up 2 and a half quite easily.

    Have a lovely trip!

  • We found a good deal with Expedia - 2 nights and flights with Air France at the Best Western near Disneyland for £350 total. Partner's card was playing up so we've taken it as a sign to do it another time, but I'm gutted. Even though I've done Disneyland twice before and Disneyworld twice, I wanna go again!
  • Thanks Vivatifiosi, that's fab! Nice to have my mind put more at rest - you did make me laugh about the biscuits though - that must have been a fun part of your trip! The Sealife centre sounds like a nice alternative too - will check that out before we go.

You are right, I can scrummage with the best, so woe on anybody trying to jump the queue at the bus!

Only the character dining to look into now - I think the kids would love it so it would be nice to give them that as a surprise....

    Happy holidaying everyone!
