  • Hi all.
I've seen a lot on package deals but not so much on day tickets. Do they do anything similar to the theme parks over here with BOGOF tickets or discounts? I would really like to go but it would be nice to not have to pay full price for the 1 day 2 park ticket as they are very pricey! No worries if not, just thought it was worth checking before we go and spend all that money. :)

if you go to DISboards and ask your question, there are French members on that site who would be able to source any current local offers, which could be used by non-French residents :).

there are various websites offering different deals

also you can use tesco clubcard deals for day hoppers : http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=2229&bci=29|New ( currently only until end march but should be updated with new ones from april )
  • Hi all,
I'm considering going to DLP with the wife and toddler (aged 2) during the 1st week of February and wanted to know if there are any special offers out there that could bring the cost of this holiday down. All tips appreciated!
I would like to stay for about 4 days (is that enough?) and I don't think we will be driving in France, unless someone can convince me this is a cheaper option.
    Thanks!

:jWould be grateful for advice about the following:

Looking to go to Disneyland Mid July 2 Adults and 2 Kids (under 7). We like the look of the Explorers Hotel but when we try to book this via the Disneyland Site it won't let you book half board. Yet if you go to the Thomas Cook website the option remains

Why is this and would you recommend half-board at this hotel?

If we book direct with the hotel we would have to book travel (Eurostar) separately and passes. At the moment you cannot book Eurostar for July as it is too far in advance. Yet of course if you book via Disneysite you get the travel all in. Seems a bit of a gamble if you book the hotel and then have to wait until you can book the travel or in reality is this no problem?

Any advice about booking regarding the above would be gratefully received

no idea why the difference in websites, but I wouldn't recommend half board anyway, it doesn't save you any money over just buying your dinner where you want to, and paying when you've eaten.

you will probably be able to book either now, or very shortly, for Eurostar for July if you call them to book. On travel-inclusive Disney packages they don't actually put your names forward for the Eurostar when you book with them, only when the dates open up with Eurostar themselves.

It is usually cheaper to book Eurostar separately from your Disney hotel.

It is also often cheaper to book the Explorers on other sites (not Disney) and then source your own park tickets.

You are aware that if you book an offsite hotel (which the Explorers is) that you are not eligible for Extra Magic Hours access? If you have young children, these are, in my opinion, invaluable, especially in July when the parks will be busy. You only get Extra Magic Hours if you stay at an onsite hotel, or if all of you have Dream annual passes as park tickets.

For anyone currently looking for deals, just noticed that Voyage Prive have most of the DLP hotels (ex Santa Fe) currently on sale with up to 50% off for selected dates in Feb/March/April. Not sure how the prices compare to booking direct - 2 nights / 3 days at the Cheyenne with park tickets starts at £119 per person.
  • Well after our failed trip last September, I finally re-booked last night through voyage-prive. Booked for 1 Feb in the Sequoia Lodge for 3 nights, 4 days for £343. And then booked flights through Air France. Now its been a few months since I had it all sorted in my head & now i've forgotten it all! How much money will we need for food per day do you think? I'm thinking of booking Cafe Mickey, how much will it cost for a meal for 3 (2 adults & a 3 year old) in there?
COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:
2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER

yey congrats on the booking babyfruitella :).
The set menu at Cafe Mickey, per adult, is £30 I believe. But you can order from the a la carte menu and do it a lot cheaper than that ie order a couple of pizzas to share between you, a starter maybe, and some drinks, that would cost way less (probably around 45 euros or so total).

It depends where you intend eating, how much money you need for food. You could do it on a McD's type budget, that would be around 10 euros each per meal (6 euros per child). Or you could do table/dinner service, starting at around 20 euros per adult and 10 euros per child.

If your child is a picky eater or doesn't eat enough to warrant a full childs meal, you don't need to order for them at table service meals, you can just ask for a spare plate and give them some of yours.

DLRPmagic has a restaurant part on its forum, where you can get an idea of the food choices/prices for all the resort restaurants.
  • Hi with the explorer hotel they do a half board just for the hotel, we went through the travel agents and got half board tickets for in the park, cant use them at the hotel, but dont plan to eat there apart from brekkie.
