  • I've just booked some airmiles flights to Paris next June (week after the half term). Does anyone have any predictions if/when there'll be any offers for the onsite hotels. When should I book by (given that my dates are now fixed!!!). I'm thinking Sequoia or New York (2 adults, a 4 year old and a 6 mth old baby). What would be a reasonable price for these hotels do you think, considering it's supposed to be a quiet time? I'm also considering the halfboard option.

What week is half term? I'm booked to go in June for my hen do, thought it would be before the school hols!! Eeeek!! I'm worried now

  • Thanks all for the help and advice so far for our trip to Disney x

I have another question about meal plans :o

We have prepaid the half board plus menu plan for our stay at half term but I don't really understand what we are actually getting for our money?

Is it a set amount of money to spend on a meal and a drink at the listed restaurants as it keeps mentioning save 10%???
Does the 10% mean that if your meal is over the pre paid allowance then you save 10% at the selected restaurants?

Also I am going to pre book Cafe Mickey for a character meal but should I pre book the other restaurants in advance now or is it too soon? (we are going on 21st Oct)

Any other suggestions for restaurants? - we are a 9 year old, 7 year old and 2 adults (also have baby but she's not weaning yet) :D

    Thanks in advance x
  • Can anyone give any feedback on the princess lunch. Going on the 27th of this month and booked for the next day at 1.30pm. Its shut for dinner time aparantly as they only run on a saturday. The princesses finish at 3.30pm so Im hoping the length of timing will be ok? Any advice appreciated on what happens during the experience? Also are drinks included in the price? the "save 10%" is a complete misnomer - if anything you might save the price of a soft drink, buts thats it. Basically in the buffet restaurants listed under the half board plan in the brochure, your half board plan voucher pays for your full buffet and a soft drink. In table service restaurants, your half board voucher pays for your choice from a set menu (not the full menu) and a soft drink.

Also I am going to pre book Cafe Mickey for a character meal but should I pre book the other restaurants in advance now or is it too soon? (we are going on 21st Oct)

if you already know where and when you want to eat, you might as well book your restaurants now.

On the half board plus plan, the restaurants I've been to and enjoyed were at the Newport Bay Clubs Cape Cod buffet, the Beaver Creek Tavern at the Seqouia Lodge, and La Grange at Billy Bobs in the Village (although I think this might now be on the standard half board plan, so you'd be losing money going there). Cafe Mickey is great, well worth going to. Lots of people rave about Walts restaurant in the main park, but to be honest I was very so-so about my lunch there. Blue Lagoon is on my list of restaurants to visit, but again, it would be for lunch not dinner, as its a park restaurant and these are not open for dinner unless the park is open until 9pm or later at night.
  • Hello All

Any idea if the Val D Europe shopping centre is open on a Sunday? I know that the Retail Villiage is open, and I think that the restaurant bit is open, but not sure about the main shopping centre and hypermarket. The French are really strict on shops opening on a Sunday and I dont want to plan a days shopping on a Sunday and find that it is all closed!

    Thanks

According to the VdE site the shops and hypermarket are only open mon-sat except special sunday openings on the 4th, 11th and 18th of December.

at that time of year, Disney offer one night and day extra free - have you tried pricing up 3 nights instead of 2? It might be exactly the same price :). Also, check which discount has been applied when you get your price of £418 - if its 25% discount or more, then thats a decent price.
