Thanks balletshoes did not realise there was a little loophole to get a Disney hotel cheaper will look in to that.
Will also look at the partner hotels, out of them which would be the best to pick for distance from parks and shuttle bus transfer times.
Thanks0 -
all the associated hotels are next to each other in a line at the end of the road where the Santa Fe begins. They are all served by the same shuttle bus, so really it depends which theme you'd prefer. The Kyriad is the only one without a swimming pool, the Explorers has a fabulous pool for youngsters. The Explorers is also first pick-up and first drop-off for the shuttle bus.0

You could also price up any onsite hotel for one adult (plus any free kids places you would qualify for - usually kids under 12 stay free at that time of year) then add your other adult/paying kids with APs when you check in at the hotel. You have to stay within the maximum occupancy for the onsite room (so 4 guests plus an infant) but apart from that, you wouldn't be charged any more than a couple of euros per night booked into the onsite hotel, for the extra guests added at check-in.
When we look into the 12 stay / play free. for our trip in September cause it was only 1 adult didnt get the free child place. Had to pay for 2 adults to get the 1 child free. Hence book the flat instead0 -

It doesn't hurt to check for February (traditionally the under-12s offer is always on from January to March each year). This year in March I was one adult and 2 under-12s, and both the kids were free.

balletshoes wrote: »On the half board plus plan, the restaurants I've been to and enjoyed were at the Newport Bay Clubs Cape Cod buffet, the Beaver Creek Tavern at the Seqouia Lodge, and La Grange at Billy Bobs in the Village (although I think this might now be on the standard half board plan, so you'd be losing money going there). Cafe Mickey is great, well worth going to. Lots of people rave about Walts restaurant in the main park, but to be honest I was very so-so about my lunch there. Blue Lagoon is on my list of restaurants to visit, but again, it would be for lunch not dinner, as its a park restaurant and these are not open for dinner unless the park is open until 9pm or later at night.
Thanks Balletshoes x and for the dinner recommendations - we are staying in Sequoia so will try the Beaver Creek - had a look at the menu and looks good.
For cafe Mickey do you know if its just character brekkie you can book or can you book a character dinner and if so do I have to state it's a character meal I'm after when booking?0 -

do you mean adding it to your booking and paying in advance, or just reserving a table and using your half board voucher?0 -

The later option - when I was looking at the Cafe Mickey menu I saw character breakfast but didn't spot anything about dinner - apols for all the questions
Also I'm guessing cos we are visiting over the half term weekend it will be packed - when it comes to rides/attractions which ones should we look to use our fastpass and try and get queueing early for? :eek:0
