hello
we have recently booked our disneyland hol.
its in february and we are driving.
anyone visited in feb (we have a 3 and 8 yr old, well he'll be turning 8 there)
any hints or tips for driving, feb holiday.
ETA it will be the feb school hols here and france, how busy is it likely to be?
also has anyone been to the wild west show? any good, worth the money?
thanks in advance0 -
Why don't you consider one of the partner hotels? Particularly Dream Castle/Magic circus? I was adamant I wasn't going to stay off site, but after a bit of research I'm going to book the Dream Castle. Much better value, proper brekkie, and a shuttle bus every 15 minutes to the park! Especially as you're both adults so I would imagine that having a disney character wandering around at breakfast time might not be so important to you!
Jxx
I would def agree with this. We have stayed onsite (Sante Fe) and off (Radisson Blu - Disney Golf) adn the 2nd was easily the better. Cheaper, better value for money and somewhere to relax in the evenings!0 -
Hi, I received my shareholder card on Friday (it took just under 6 weeks from when I faxed off the application form).
Can I use the card whenever I buy anything at DLH? Do I just show the card when purchasing items/food? Is there anywhere that dosn't accept the card?
I'm going 22 September and really looking forward to it now.
Also I read a while back on this thread that if you pay cash in Auberge de Cendrillon you get a free photo or something? Is that correct?
I need to e-mail DLH about if "princess for a day" is open during our stay? What is the best e-mail address to use?
Will there not be a fireworks display during ouray? I thought there might be one on the Saturday as the park is open later then but not sure?
Thanks in advance

in the resort, you can use your card in any shop and table service/buffet service restaurant. Always show them your card before you pay for your purchases/meals. You can't use your shareholders card for discount at any of the counter service restaurants, or the drinks carts dotted around the parks.

Hi. We've just decided to take the kids to Disney in June next year. We want to stay at the Davy Crockett (so we can eat at least one meal in), and then be at the park all day. The offer that they have got on is on until 17.10, but does anyone know if they tend to rotate their offers. (i.e if we wait should we get a better deal)?
well you still have plenty time to book, as usually June isn't even available to book until September each year (the dates came out early this year). Nobody knows what offers will be available for future dates, but June is generally quite an expensive time to go (I don't know why, but certainly when we've been in early May and early June the onsite prices have been too steep for me and we've gone offsite with APs).
I know this is like asking how long is a piece of string but we want to make sure we get the best for our money (dont we all) with 10 months to plan!! Also, does the 10% off meal plan thing tend to run all the time?
the half board plans are always available. The only thing I'd say is, be sure you know what you're paying for before you add that - its not great value, you rarely get a 10% saving or anything like it over paying for your meals on the day, and it does restrict you to certain table/buffet service restaurants only. It only covers one meal per day per person too.
Many thanks all.

Thanks Balletshoes you're a legend on this thread!
I'm a bit disappointed about the parade/fireworks. I thought they were on all year round. Should have done my research properly.0 -
Thanks from me too Balletshoes. I was hoping to be able to go at Easter but its even more expensive. Maybe we just picnic and slow cooker our evening meals rather than meal plan. When would you say is the best value time of year to go (I work in a school and we are very much tied to holidays!)“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0

the cheapest time to go is always January to end of March each year (there are always offers like one night free, plus all kids under 12 are free at that time of year). Often UK February half terms don't coincide with any other European countries, so the parks can be lovely and quiet (even though its cold - usually a couple of degrees colder than UK in winter, couple of degrees hotter in summer). Our first trip to DLP was in a Feb half term, and I don't do queues, so if it had been busy I wouldn't have gone back.

Ooh, I had a horrible feeling you were going to say that. CParks booked in Jan for hubbys 40th and wanted to make this our summer holiday. Thanks for taking time to help Balletshoes, I really do appreciate this. Its a lot of money and want to make sure we get the best holiday for the children that we can.“Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff.”0
