Disney's T&Cs are very clear in their brochure - go to the booking terms and conditions at the back of the brochure, and look at paragraph 6. Basically, if you upgrade your existing package (that means paying the same price, or more, to change your hotel/add a half board package) you should not be charged any admin fees by Disney for doing so.
Disney so far have said they can only let you cancel and lose your 10%, which is correct if you want any actual money back from them (as thats classed as you downgrading your package).
Go have a look on the official Disney site to see how much you'd have to add to your existing package by upgrading hotel at the current offer price, or by adding half board (so your main meal of the day would be paid for), see which one works out better for you. After that, get back on the phone to Disney tomorrow with your brochure in front of you, and spell out their own terms and conditions to them (stress that you are calling to upgrade your current booking).
edited to add - you can also add pre-payable meals to your package, like the Princess meal at the Auberge de Cendrillon, or Cafe Mickey etc, this also counts as upgrading your package.
"Exchange of the package booked for an equal of higher value package" seems to be allowed, from the online boooking conditions, which includes phone bookings.

Hi Sonia,
I was in DP in March for 3 nigts/ 4 days and was also on a budget. Throughout the whole hol I didnt pay more than about 40 euros for me and 2 children (3 and 6)- drinks incuded. Cheapest place by far is Mcd's - cost about 14 euros for us (ate there twice whilst in DP). We also ate at Annettes Diner- this cost about 38 euros, but I did get the kids a milkshake each that was about 6 euros. We also ate at Buzz Lightyears Pizza Planet which wasnt bad (is an all you can eat buffet) and if I remember correctly kids under 3 are free to eat. Cost about 35 euros all in if I remember correctly - also has a little soft play area that kids can play in whilst you eat which was a plus. Ate at Billy bobs in the village and although the food was very nice and only cost about 6 euros each, we saw a mouse just as we finished our meal  Needless to say we didnt pay and wouldnt go back. Also ate at the Last chance Cafe (right next to river boat in Disneyland park) - this was very reasonably priced, about 6/7 euros each again but food was very bland (and I was so looking forward to ribs that day) . If your on a budget be prepared for loads of the same - chips, chips, chips lol. Wont kill for a couple of days though imho. Also, make sure you pack plenty of snacks and drinks as this can cut costs down. Bring some squash and refill with water at water fountains dotted about the parks. This is what we did and also bring some sandwich bags so you can take a few rolls etc from Breakfast into the park with you
. Check out http://www.dlpfoodguide.com/magickingdom.html - it gives a description of all restuaurants and price brackets (even has some menu pics with curent prices for some places). Hope this helps x

Thank you so very much for taking your time to write such a detailed reply. We are really excited about going but was just stumbling on how much to take for food!
Thanks again.

Can someone help me please.
Hi we have booked our first ever trip to disneyland paris :j.
We fly from edinburgh for three nights at the end of november, booked in at the magic castle. We have booked two meals already so just one meal the day we arrive needs sorted.:)
Can anyone give me an idea about how much spending money we will need, there are two adults and two children?
It is a treat for xmas for our kids so spending money on toys and treats will be needed.
Also any ideas what we will need to take? I guess winter will be cold but any advise will be great.
In a panic as heard its very expensive and have not saved any spending money yet :eek:and have one passport still to buy:(.
Thanks in advance guys xx0 -
it will be very cold, so you'll need thermals for the kids as well as your usual winter wear for the Highlands.
it will be very expensive if you're buying toys for the kids at DLP, their prices are more expensive than the Disney stores here in the UK.
you can do it on a budget, but basically, for your first trip, take as much money as you can - yes, its expensive. If you've already paid for your main meal on 2 days, I'd aim for about 150 euros for the other 2 days for a family your size, and maybe 50 euros per day for the days when your meals are already paid for. This might not leave you much for spending a lot on toys though.
Could you maybe give the kids a budget, and get them to spend their money on their last day (saves them mithering every day for something just because they've spied it at that moment in time). Or buy some Disney stuff they'd like here (Tesco, Asda, online etc) before you go, pack it and take it with you, then give them a toy per day etc from that.0 -
Hi
Wondered if you could help me, we are off to Paris on a sun holiday in September and i dont quite have enough clubcard vouchers to exchange so my mum has offered to change up hers instead, do you know if they require any identification with these when you exchange them on the day or if they just take the ticket?
Thanks in advance

Hey all
me and my sister (both 21) are booking to go to Disneyland Paris for the first time in 10 days time! Question is before we book it.. is HB worth it? we are worried that if we don't get it it will cost us loads to eat at night.. but I worked out HB will cost us £30 each per day so does anyone reckon you can eat for cheaper than that? We don't mind eating fast food some/most of the time. Thanks
Also we plan to stay at the New York hotel? is that an alright hotel? mostly I have looked at reveiws that say its overpriced but I realize your mainly paying for location.

If you don't mind eating fast food, theres no point at all getting half board vouchers - because they are only for table service or buffet service meals, and you can certainly eat cheaper for the one meal per day the half board vouchers give you on £30 each per day! A counter service meal at DLP for an adult costs around 12 euros, so you could have 2 of them each and money left over for snacks for the cost of one half board voucher.0
