2 cars if there are nine of you?

Take around 3 hours from Calais although you could break it up with an overnight stay somewhere. I always said the same but we did it this year.

It is just a thought, we got our Eurotunnel on Clubcard vouchers so it only cost £3. That swayed it for us, LOL!!

However, I hate standard class on the Eurostar with a passion, my kids are always sick in Stanrd as it is so hot and crammed, we will only ever drive now, it was lovely and so relaxing with time to suit ourselves and no looking at the clock for getting home - even if you miss the train they'll put you on the next one.
the one and only time we have been via Eurostar my youngest son was sick too ! ( all over the floor oops!)

it was very hot like you say and no air :(
i loved the fact it was easy and you get straight to Disney but hated actually being on there !

Eurotunnel for us all the way since, using tesco deals of course :D

Just the once for us too - and that was more than enough. I had to strip the kids down to their undies as it was just so hot on there. We now go in 1st Class or Leisure Select (whatever it is now) and usually have the carriage to ourselves. It is nice getting straight to the gates but by the time you factor in getting to the station, checking in, fighting over space for cases, etc... it does not take that much longer. And most of the families have kids on laps so there are double the people in the carriage than there are seats. Cattle get better standards of travel!! There were so many people on there, I really have not seen anything like it, people even sit on their cases in the galleys - and they have booked seats. It is ridiculous. My son was sick down himself too. It was awful.

Now we found driving though, we have a good reliable big car and we figured it would be quicker getting there than it would to Cornwall!! People think 'different country' but we can be in Paris quicker than we can get to Cronwall or the North of England. We add on a day either side and stay in a hotel so we max the time we are there as well. Check into Disney Hotel at 8am (was surprised at how busy it was at that time in the morning, LOL) and leave on park closing. Just gives us more time.

Loved having the car there as we could take what we wanted. My own pillows. It was heaven on a stick!! I am pretty easily pleased. :)

Was waiting all day for someone to post (sad or what!!)

What did you say to her?

Where are you staying? You could call and ask to upgrade to the next hotel grade up and add on the meal plan.

I think it'll depend on how you word it.

'Please can I ask how much it will cost to upgrade our holiday to include the HB option'.

I asked how much it would cost to upgrade to HB, but said i'm not definitely going to just want a quote. I made the mistake of saying i wanted to see if it would be less than i thought because of the new offers.

I think she might have already had a similar call coz she started saying how i would have to pay full price and couldn't benefit from it!!

I was tempted to try again tomorrow and just simply ask for the quote - might be worth a try with someone different answering phone - what do u think??

Can't upgrade hotel as we have saved so we could book disney hotel as a treat!!

Dreamer, call up and ask for a quote - when she gives the price tell them you have a booking and tell them you want to amend it. Don;t mention your booking until you have asked how much.

Here is the board on The Dibb, you'll find someone over there doing the same thing: http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=156

If you save by cancelling then you might as well cancel it and rebook using the Quidco Cashback link for 6% back. Or, check the price on expedia/lastminute as they have 10% or 12% cashback. This will give you the money back you lost on your deposit. Where there is a will there is a way. :)

I see what you mean about the Disneyland Hotel - what about upgrading the type of room you are in, instead? There are some Family suites (smaller than the Cinderella but 'on the other side (the posh bit, LOL) - ask for the prices of those to see if you can upgrade over there instead.

I do remember that there was a difference of £700 on the dates we looked at, even losing the 10% would have been £200 to save £700 so it would have been more than worth it. But I procrastinated and the room went.

What does that mean? Of course you can if you make a new booking. I'd call their bluff. Have everything ready and open on the screen to make sure you can definately rebook (get through to the final booking stage) and then call and tell them to give you the cheaper dates else you are cancelling your holiday (and then carry on booking online - but go via quidco to get cashback).

Thanks :) Will have a look through it all and give it another go!!

No, No joy the guy on the phone was having none of it lol. I was on the phone for 25 minutes trying to get him to make it clear why it couldn't be done. He said the terms and condition say that if you want to upgrade your originally package to for example a better hotel you would only get it at the offer price that you booked.

To benefit the offer at the minute I would have to cancel my booking in writiing and rebook for the current offer. That I would not do as I would have to wait for Disney to sort out the cancellation and then wait for my refund, minus 10%.:(

They must have tightened up on it then - I don't have a paper brochure to check. When do you travel? If you book it on the phone it is only a £50 deposit then the balance within 60 days. I've not seen that the cancellation is in writing either. I've been trying to get into their site to download the brochure but can't.
