People were doing this on the dibb for the last time we went so it can be done. Someone had booked SF and upgraded to SL and add a HB meal plan and only had a few ££ more to pay as the new prices kicked in when she amended the booking (for which there is no fee).
If there is still more money owing to you, add a character breakfast on or upgrade your accomodation.
Alternatively you can move to more expensive accomdation and the offer price will kick in and you can stay somwhere better (ie, if booking in Santa Fe - ask how much to upgrade to SL).
Hope that makes sense.
Hi, thanks for your advice, I thought I had come a cross this in this thread some time ago. When I rang disney today and asked if there was anything they could do like a upgrade or something added she just said NO, she wasn't very helpful at all TBH. I had to save really hard to pay for this holiday and £233 is alot of money:(0 -

Which hotel are you staying at, and have your included any half board plans/meals paid in advance on your booking already? Oh, and do you have a DLP brochure in your possession (if you don't, go get one from your local travel agents, so you can look at the terms and conditions).
Hi balletshoes, I did book complete package Hotel cheyenne, tickets and direct Eurostar. I havn't booked any extras like meal plans as it was dear enough to just book. I have a brochure and had a flick through the terms and conditions but dont know what I would be looking for really:)0 -
okay, ideally what would you like for the extra £233 you've paid? would you prefer to move to say the Sequoia Lodge, or would you prefer to add a half board meal plan? Disney's T&Cs are very clear in their brochure - go to the booking terms and conditions at the back of the brochure, and look at paragraph 6. Basically, if you upgrade your existing package (that means paying the same price, or more, to change your hotel/add a half board package) you should not be charged any admin fees by Disney for doing so.
Disney so far have said they can only let you cancel and lose your 10%, which is correct if you want any actual money back from them (as thats classed as you downgrading your package).
Go have a look on the official Disney site to see how much you'd have to add to your existing package by upgrading hotel at the current offer price, or by adding half board (so your main meal of the day would be paid for), see which one works out better for you. After that, get back on the phone to Disney tomorrow with your brochure in front of you, and spell out their own terms and conditions to them (stress that you are calling to upgrade your current booking).
edited to add - you can also add pre-payable meals to your package, like the Princess meal at the Auberge de Cendrillon, or Cafe Mickey etc, this also counts as upgrading your package.0 -
The main saving is the price of the travel as they have added 30% saving. Does this also count or is it just the difference for the hotel, Thanks:)0

its a whole package you've booked, so if you've compared the whole package and its now £233 cheaper, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't count.0

So I would just ring up and ask to add a half board meal option for example and with them amending my booking will that make the current price kick in, do you think?:)0

I might try the same thing tomorrow as the difference in ours is about £300, just wasn't sure as the main difference was the transport0 -

Its so annoying isn't it? I thought the sooner I booked the best price i would get for the eurostar, not thinking they would offer a deal like 30% off travel:(0 -

Yes, call them tomorrow and ask how much it would be to upgrade your package to include half board dining (after checking prices first of course, might be less to upgrade the hotel as well, check it is available online first) and see what they quote you.
Let us know.0 -
