    Hi Em,

Where I live the nearest pick up is a way away but you can call them and they pick up on through routes here. I was not 100% sure on where you lived. We live near the airport and while it is not on the through route we can call them to book and get picked up at the bus stop that is 2 minutes walk from us. It's worth a thought. How long is your jouney on the other coach going to be? the only difference is changing at London for the Eurolines. what about Flying, I found flights for us at £200 return a few weeks back.

The thing about the Eurolines trip is that it you can choose an overnight journey so the kids (and possibly you) tend to sleep through it rather than be bouncing around the coach getting bored with it taking a day to get there during daylight hours - for me this is preferable and I prefer to do this if flying as well as my son has an ADHD type disorder. It says on the other site it is early morning start and then you get to Paris in the evening so did you have travelling times at all?

It was just a thought for you really if you was disappointed with your hotel and not getting what you wanted it might have been worth considering for the sake of a few extra pounds. I do however think you should speak to the travel company about them not stating it was not the 'Kyriad' hotel that everyone is assuming as the one in DLP is called Kyriad and you should make them aware that they should state that it is not the resort hotel. It's a bit sneaky IMHO and I would be far from impressed - it sounds to me like they have chosen that particular hotel for that very reason! It might even be worth taking it up with Trading Standards if you wanted to get your deposit back. HTH.
  • Hi emweaver,

I presume you've contacted the coach company with your concerns and to ask if they've stayed in that hotel before? That's always a good sign, if they go back to somewhere they have been before especially with coach companies.

BTW, I note you mention the holiday includes evening meal. On the Coach company link you posted it only states B&B?

blue_monkey, I think you are being a bit unfair there. The coach company has put a direct link to that hotel from their website so they are hardly trying to be sneaky are they?

HTB, The link has only been up on the website since yesterday, em only found out which hotel it actually was yesterday and this is why it has been stated.

Before this she saw the ad in her local paper, booked and paid her deposit and she knew she was staying at the Kyriad and had been asking questions about it. Everyone knows the Kyriad is at DLP and had told her this.

But it now seems that it isn't the same Kyriad everyone is aware of and I personally find this misleading and the company, in the paper where the ad was initially advertised, should have stated that the Kyriad was in Paris and was 10 minutes from DLP because everyone here has assumed from the name Kyriad it was the partner hotel. Maybe there was a deliberate reason for this as people prefer to stay 'on site' with the free buses to come and go as they please rather than be dropped off in the morning and then picked up at a certain time in the evening. I certainly would not book a holiday like this and I would have been annoyed if I had been in this situation. Indeed, if you read back over the pages where em has posted she was quite suprised at the hotel she has been given to stay in and this is where my response came from!!

em, you can't ring them to ask questions as they are getting funny with you????

Sorry, but that is far from right as you should know what you are paying for. Have they told you how you'll get from the hotel to DLP each day?? Is there anything else you want to know? I'll call them later for you. Give me a list of questions, LOL, ous MSE'rs can take it in turns to call and ask a different question each time!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hmmm, I am quite cross thinking about this (clearly I have nothing to do this morning, LOL) but while that is true I paid £600 for 3 nights/4 days in sequoia lodge for 2 adults/2 children travelling by Eurostar so for the price em had paid I would have thought it was a partner hotel.

That company have a shocking attitude towards their customers IMO!! You should get what is advertised, if they have mislead you with their ad in the local paper and did not have it on their website before to enable you to see what you was getting then I would have thought Trading Standards would have issues with that!! Do you still have the ad from the paper, em?
  • If youre driving yourself to Disneyland Paris (its not as difficult as it sounds as the roads are brilliant) try www.cheaperferries.com to book/ check prices on all ferry routes. Personally Ive found Dover/Calais (1.5 hour crossing)is probably the best route followed closely by Portsmouth/Le Havre (8 hour crossing). Book well in advance of travel, as most ferry companies now use the fluid pricing system which means as the sailings get busier the prices will go up.

Disney have their new attraction Tower of Terror, so theres sure to be massive queues so make sure you use your fastpass tickets to save you valuable time once there.
