I know that if you get the eurostar, that your luggage gets taken to your hotel and you can just go straight into the park. Well my question is that, when we fly, and if we arrive at the hotel before check in time, is there anyway we could leave the luggage and go into the park or would we have to wait? We are going to stay in hotel new york.
Also roughly, what time is check in usually?
    Thanks x

  • Hi folks!

    Expert advice needed please!!!!!

We go on monday, 1 day only, on a Sun deal.

It is for our little girls 2nd birthday, she loves girly stuff, and 'pretty' things.

We also have a 3 year old boy, mad on vehicles. They are both quite brave and love scary rollercoasters.

DS is 115cm tall, DD 95cm.

Can anyone suggest an itinerary, as our time is so short? They won't stay still for long, so shows aren't really on the cards for us yet.

Would be so grateful for any advice, never been before, and are all very excited.

    SFG x
"brave and like scary rollercoasters"! Not much like our two then really! and 1 day... hard to know where to begin!

Our girls (very nearly 2 and coming up 4 but both completely soft) loved the stars and cars show in Walt Disney Studios, you wouldn't have to watch the whole thing if you didn't like it, same with the main parade in the park too. They do take up about half an hour+ though but are really worth seeing if they want to see their favourite characters. best to get there a bit beforehand to get a good place to stand. Why don't you have a look at them on youtube and see if you think they're for you before you go? There are also pics and some videos of each ride on the "before you go" section of the DLP website that might help you to see what is for you.

They LOVED Playhouse Disney live and it is quite interactive, so it's not like you have to sit still through it all.
Buzz lightyear laser blast might be good for you, it would probably be worth popping into Discoveryland (it's near the entrance) as you pass by and getting a fastpass ticket for that one and then going back to the area at the time your fastpass is for, hard to know when you will have to fit that in if you need to make a real plan to get the most from your day though.
Small world in Fantasyland is certainly pretty, though not scary or fast, but they have a fast turn around and we didn't have to wait for more than 10 mins, so that should be easy to fit in when you're round there.
Toystory playland could be just right for you, I'm not sure if there's an age/height limit for that RCRacer thing but it certainly looked scary to me!

My real advice is to have a look at the Disney website and youtube to see the things you might like before you go. Have a great time!:)

yes all the hotels have their own luggage rooms, you just go to your hotel when you arrive, pick up your park tickets etc, and if your room is ready, your room key too. Strictly speaking your room may not be ready until 3pm, but it may be ready earlier, and if it is, you will get your room key when you arrive to pick up your park tickets (you can do this as early as you like - I've picked up park tickets at the Santa Fe at 7.45am and been in the park for Extra Magic Hours that morning :)).

unfortnately there are height limitations for both Parachute Drop and RC Racer - 2 and 4 year olds would definitely not make the height restriction on RC Racer (its 1 metre 20 or above) but they might make it on Parachute Drop. You'd really have to go on this ride first thing in the morning as the park is opening though, if you don't want to queue for at least 40 minutes for it.

thanks for that, its good to know. Because we are still paying for that day i would like to get the most out of it, instead of traveling for most of it.

Playhouse Disney Live - this will sound stupid, but what chacters is in it? would there be the likes of Handy Manny and Oso? also is it real chacters as in people dressed up, or is like a sit down film type thing?
    Thanks in advance

Hi, Not stupid at all, I didn't know what to expect until we went in.
It's one adult and then puppets for the characters. They're about 2' tall. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy I think. It's Minnie's b'day. Then they go to Handy Manny and they fix a bubble machine and bubbles come down over the audience. Then a Little einstein bit, then Pooh and Tigger, the children get up and bounce with Tigger and when they blow hard to get the kite down lots and lots of foil leaves float down from the ceiling. Then finally singing and dancing for Minnie's birthday party. The whole audience sit cross legged on the floor and the children get up to dance etc.
Just found this vid on youtube so you can see what to expect. It's exactly the same.

Our girls loved it, and we don't even have sky so it was all new to them. Once we had seen it we had to go back every day. We tended to watch Stars and Cars and then dive straight into Playhouse Disney Live as the characters were getting back in their cars, it is right beside where they perform stars and cars and the english playhouse disney show started as the parade left.

Will your children dress up? On the Tuesday of our trip 2 weeks ago there was a little area roped off for children in costumes right at the front of stars and cars in front of the stage. I also think we were lucky that they picked our girls out a lot for photo's as they looked cute in their princess dresses. Would definately let them dress up again.
