Just back from DLP today so thought i would post my thoughts as it was first visit.
Stayed 5 nights at the santa fe and found the hotel to be nice and clean and comfortable for the price i paid and i would recommend it to others, the shuttle to parks only took around 5 minutes.
One thing i would say is try and get an early sitting for breakfast 7-7.30 as it gets manic with people queing up the corridor,we had early sittings for 3 days and 2 at 8.15 on the later days we went in the exit doors got what we wanted and took it back to the room no one challenged us about it.
As we were there 5 days we got fantasy annual passes at 139 euros each, but these get discount on shops, restaurants etc so in long run worked out better value than just park tickets. With the annual pass you also get free parking at disney car parking lots, but personally i used the disney village car park and paid 2 euros for the day on presenting the pass at the office, this was easier than using shuttle bus to get back when parks close as the rush for the bus was rediculous.
I dont want to sound racist as i am not that kind of person but i found the french to be very rude in the parks,if there were characters out there was no queue like in florida it was just a free for all.The french just barged people out the way including young children,it was the same at parade on evening they just pushed you out the way to get a better view.0 -
Glad you had a nice time johnny, thanks for updating us regarding your holiday.
Yes, the French - Germans and Spanish too - are pretty much like this. By Day 3 I am usually barging people as well - sod them! Unless they are EnglishThankfully my kids are not in interested in charcters these days.

The lodge is self catering huh? we dont want to go self catering. we want the breakfast. Also only need a room.
No Its not self catering, Its a full service hotel, there is no self catering other than the Davy Crocket, maybe it would be better to go to the DLP website and request a brochure, you can see more easily from there whats on offer. Also the breakfast in France is continental.0 -

Hi All,
Back from our recent visit to Disney, we had a wonderful 3 days, arrived on the Wednesday and left on Friday. Wednesday was a glorious day and the park was relatively quite, Thursday was freezing but still quite considering it ws St. Patricks day, by Friday afternoon the parks were starting to get busy, but we'd done everything we wanted.
Good points:
We stayed at the Cheyenne, Butch Cassidy building. The hotel was clean, not too busy and we were lucky with the shuttles everytime, not too packed and not too long to wait.
5min wait on Space Mountain, excellent, I was expecting much longer queues.
We were lucky enough to see Mickey, Pluto and Goofy in a quite corner of Frontierland with no queuing system, and not many people, got some lovely pics.
The St.Patricks day fireworks were brilliant and we had a great position outside Casey's Corner.
The weather: it didn't rain until half an hour before we needed to go to the station, couldn't have wished for better.
Bad Points:
For me the worst thing about the holiday was the food, overpriced and pretty poor quality.
We ate at the Plaza Gardens buffet which was pretty much like school dinners, with little choice in main courses, deserts and salads were OK, but definitley not worth €63.
We also ate a Cafe Mickey, here the food was truly awful. I had a turkey escalop with cheese & tomato topping and jacket potato, the turkey was one of those £2.99 pack of 2 type things you get in Asda, with pizza topping, the potato had been baked in foil, and kept warm for hours judjing by the colour. Mum had a caesar salad which was mosty lettuce, with a few strips of chicken, no parmesan and inedible garlic bread. So over priced, we should have just shared a pizza.
I also hate the way they don't give you any indication outside the buffet restaurants what kind of food is on offer, most unhelpful when travelling with a fussy child.
We had McDonalds for our meal before we got the train, at least we knew it would be relatively cheap and edible!
No Fast Pass on Crush's Coaster, what's all that about? Queue was 65 mins by 11am, they really need to sort that out.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I know exactly what you mean about the food inside the parks it is very overpriced and some of it was disgusting.
the sandwiches in deli bake place on main street were ok but about £18 for 2 tuna baguettes,2 plain crisps and 2 diet cokes is truly shocking. Also the place opposite thunder mountain was ok for some mexican type fast food.
i also found it frustrating that a lot of rides do not have fast pass.
i was on caseys corner watching the fireworks aswell, how much smoke did they give off??
agree about weather for early march it was really good, started fresh but soon warmed up to a nice temp with good amounts of sunshine except thursday which was freezing but dry.0 -
