Disneyland Paris/EuroDisney - Questions & Answers

I have been looking recently but wanted the direct train and they all seem to be booked. The tickets - we was getting quoted for 2 daults and one child (plus one under 4 on lap) £180 there and back. Hotels are negotiable but have a look on Expedia to see if you can get anything. We looked for 3 nights/4 days and it would have cost £500 for travel, staying in Disney hotel but this was with the 1 stop Eurostar service via Lille. I wanted the Direct Route so we could use the Disney Express but if staying near to the park then this might not matter. This was for going end of November this year.
BEWARE of the French Bank holiday (around 9th November I beleive) because our last visit co-incided with a Friday bank holiday and disney was rammed, it was a complete waste of a day and we could not even get in until after lunch time.
At the end of the day it is each to their own. We all love Disney and if you have children and want to go then I think every little child will love it. Because we are not fluent in French I am relauctant to go off elsewhere in case we got lost or confused with directions so am happy to stay where I know and this is something else to think about. There are offers for one night free which can be used with the kids stay and play free at the moment.
Have a great time.0 -
I would go with what Discodee has said... last time I set foot in there was Xmas 2002."Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
It's only teenage wasteland"

having spent months trying to get to DLRP cheaply, trying all the various routes, flying, driving, train, direct, etc. i found the cheapest way was via a company called yabop disney. you can only go on set dates, but for a direct service i dont know how they do it so cheaply.
i even went into some travel agents to see if they could match it (bit wary of using the company, as very few reviews on them, and wanted to go via someone known), but none could get the room alone at disney, for the price we have paid all-in
have done a quick search on their site and they currently have the following available for your party (incl travel, passes, B&B & express)
2 nights Newport Bay early Dec for £1119
2 nights Sequioa in March for £1119
3 nights Sequioa in April for £1210

we have been twice ( oct and july) we have usde the SUN cheap holidays, to stay here : http://www.la-croix-du-vieux-pont.com/uk/ http://www.siblu.com/france/paris_loire_valley/la_croix_du_vieux_pont.php which is a gorgeous site 1 hours drive away from DLRP
there is a site closer, called Les Etangs Fleuris which is 20 mins away from DLRP : http://www.etangs-fleuris.com/en/index.html
http://www.siblu.com/france/paris_loire_valley/les_etangs_fleuris.php
we then book ferry with www.speedferries.com
you could ,if you collect them ,use tesco clubcard deals vouchers for the above sites with www.siblu.com or www.frenchlife.co.uk and also on ferry travel or Eurotunnel
then its just tickets on top www.365tickets.com seem to be cheapest, and spending money0 -

but with respect those yahoo prices are double what I paid!!
Re the train someone said above it cost £500 or something
Just get a weekly ticket from the train office at the airport. You want paris vista and orange carte ( one is adult, one is child, cant remember which) This worked out at £80, maybe less for all 4 of us and got us to the disney park and back, plus we used it whenever we wanted. Sometimes just nipping up to val de europe to get some food from the big supermarket, and as I said had one full day in paris which is worth doing. Kids loved the eiffel tower.
That ticket covers you on all buses trains and trams. It is not far, and there is a direct train that cuts off 3/4 of the journey too, but obviously you'd need to get the times etc of that.
visit tripadvisor.co.uk and there are parisian experts who can help with thatI can be brown I can be blue I can be violet and sky. I can be hurtful I can be purple I can be anything you like..Gotta be green gotta be mean gotta be everything more...0 -
If you book with an agent it'll cost more - that is the point and Yobop is an agent.
I have been looking for November - if you book well in advance the train for 4 of us costs around £100 (£81 or £119 depending on what day I go - one child on lap, my daughter will be happy with this my son can have the seat) and it goes right into DLP. Then the hotel - depending on where you stay can be cut down too and no faffing around with getting to the park by train and wasting what little time you have there anyway. Sure it might be cheaper to stay outside but if you spend an hour getting to and then from the park that is 2 hours a day wasted - 6 hours of your trip wasted for the sake of a few quid saving on on site accomodation.
I have looked for agents and shopped around with my own prices and have found it much less to book it myself. Have a look on Expedia, you can stay in Movenpick - a room for 4 - for £50 a night. And you get breakfast - all of the hotels in and around DLP give a breakfast from what I have found and they all have a shuttle bus to and from the park. If you go after January then kids go free - if you go while they have their other offers on then kids only stay and play free - in Jan to Mar they even travel free so you can save a bit more there.
I would say, have a good shop around - Disneyland Resort website is pretty good as they have all the offers on there and you can choose all of their and all of their partner hotels, as is expedia as it is more detailed. I would suggest shoping around for a few hours and you'll find what you are looking for quite easily and steer away from Agents as they have to add their own costs onto this.
Just as an example:
Cresta want to charge me: £1132.00 for 2 adults, 2 children for a 3 night stay.
I found the exact same prices for booking myself: £234 for the train (direct there and back) and the hotel for £522 for tickets, room and breakfast.
So my price is £756, Agents price is £1132 - so I can save £376 by booking it myself!!
The Disney website is very good as when you pull up the calendar for booking (do this instead of entering the dates) it will show you the prices in colour code so you can choose the cheaper times of year. The time we are looking at is one of the most expensive times but if you choose the 'yellow' dates you can get Mid November in the same hotel as quoted above for £419 and this is Xmas Time in Disney and it is wonderful to see all the snow machines going and all the xmas shows. Anyway, so if you shopped around you would be able to get more savings. If we went Mid November it would cost us £419 for the hotel (breakfast, tickets, room) and £173 for the train - so a total of £592 for booking myself and a saving on Cresta of £498 on their £1090 price!!
PS. The Explorers Hotel has a 'Crew Room' that sleeps six so this is your best option! 1 double, 1 room with bunk beds and another 2 on the sofa bed. Best option and found on Cresta for £450 for 3 nights. Book on the Disneyland website and you'll get the cost of your tickets in the price they show - the Expedia page did not give me ticket costs.0 -

how can you book far in advance? whenever i have looked at the eurostar website, it only gives me dates for 3m in advance, and the prices are nowhere near £100 for 4 people, more like £100 a person, so working on that i would have to pay £400 before i even think about hotels/entrance tickets.
but with yabop, i have paid about £750 for 3 adults, 1 child and 1 infant - which is very similar to the prices you have come up with, having trawled around and done it yourself.
i will agree though, that Cresta, and most high street travel agents, were nearer the £1500 for the exact same holiday, as i have booked. Im prob gonna be slatted for spam now, as im defending a company, but i have spent over 6m trying to get the price down, and i couldnt find any way to do it. ive followed every disney thread there is, visited Disboads, etc. and nothing ever came close price wise, for the dates i needed to go
Just hope, i wont be back here eating my words in a few months time, as i know you tend to get what you pay for

I have chosen MORE expensive trips because I would like to travel on the direct route - my son is a pain in the !!! and I can't imagine going from train to train with him fighting and having a tantrum so prefer to be on the one train. This is also paying for a seat for him - although he does not need one - so it could be done for less than this if need be.
With Yabob I did take a look and in the next 6 months there are only 2 dates in which you can go - December for 2 N/3D or March for 2N/3D - hardly flexible. At least with this option you can choose which option suits you - plus this is for 3 Nights/4 days so a longer stay than with Yabob.
I think the holidays are pretty much the same in all honesty - the same as what you are getting I will get too, the only thing I might not get is the disney Express but it will take 30 minutes to leave our luggage at the hotel, get back to the park and check in later that night.
I went with Cresta last time and you get nothing more than you would pay the Agent for by doing it yourself except a nice little ticket holder (which we have kept) and er, that is it!! We did get some vouchers for discount on foods but we never used them so for us, it was nothing more. I did not think the prices all that special on yabob, I could go back and have a look but have some book keeping to be done (VAT return - urgh!) - all I am saying is that i did find it cheaper, and you are not limited to the number of days/nights that you have to stay if you book it yourself - and you can trawl around and get the best prices!!
I am going to book over the next few days - it is our Xmas present and we ask people for money towards going for our pressies and it is perfect escapism with nothing to worry about while we are there. If I find better prices than these then I'll be back to let you know.0
