just booking our flights for our late nov trip ( using airmiles)
need some advice though!
we don't know whether to get a late flight on the fri night, or wait until early sat morn and stay overnight in Heathrow on the fri ??
as we wouldnt get to CDG until 10.05pm if we went late fri
would this be a problem in getting to the hotel ( holiday inn most prob, not booked yet!) and checking in etc at this time?
anyone usually fly from there can recommend a place to park cheaply? ( we may get the train yet using family railcard) also somewhere to stay over the night before ? ( if we decide to do this)
not flown to DLRP before and am stressing! lol ,really want to get these flights booked now the airmiles have been credited

We didn't arrive until about 11pm last Wed with a flight delay and a missing suitcase and we just picked a taxi up outside at a cost of 76 euros plus a tip, which is just as cheap as boooking one earlier as far as I can see.
We stayed at the Holiday inn and checked in really easily as there was no one else around.0 -
hi all, we are flying out on tue 16 sep, landing at 9am local time and I know we are landing in terminal 1, I am now starting to get really nervous as I have never flown and we are taking our 2 kids aged 6 yr an 10 mth,
any tips at all would be appreciated I have read through all the pages (it's taken a while) and have looked up the height restrictions etc, we are staying in santa fe for 3 nights.
few specific questions are, how hard is it to get from terminal 1 to the train station we will have buggy and 6yr old, (our flight checks in at5.30am so am expecting to be bit shell shocked), also how much is rer from dlr to val de place for shopping as we are thinking about getting supplys from there rather than eating in parks every meal,
also can you download a detailed map of the parks and villages so I can plan
and what info is there on a ballon over the lakes there was a brief mention of it a few pages back can any 1 post a link to info.
thanks in advance I really feel I need some help here
oh couple more quick questions,, what are the eateries like for vegi food?? and also what are they like for baby food? our daughter hates jars of baby food so I am getting a bit concerned that she will be surviving on bananas and cereal for four days. do they have the same brands of nappies in france? we use cloth at home but I don't think that is practical on holiday. does any1 know what facilities are in the rooms in santa fe?0 -
they have programmes which include details maps marking out meet and greets, places to eat etc inside the park.
i saw the balloon mentioned, if im correct you walk through disney village to get there
they have a baby centre but think they sell just jars, we fed our daughter normal food just gave her some of ours. i would take your own nappies as i found them expensive in disnelyland something like £1 each!
we arrive just before midnight on the 15th of sept!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -

who / where should I book transfers ?
Use the link in deltakc's post and if you book a shared transport its likely you will be on your own but will pay less than private.
purple cat you'll find links to all things DLP on this website including menus etc.

The balloon is above the lake beside the hotels (you can walk to the parks from the Sante Fe past the lake) and although it goes up in the air it is held down and doesn't move.0 -

Thought I would give a quick trip update in the hope that fellow MSErs were visiting disney with our tips if they search (bear with me if a couple of words are geared towards a search). We are a family of six now, so have to go for the big family option of Thomas Cook My explorers (benotel) which has crew rooms which have a king bed, a twin, and an adjoining room with bunks, plenty of room for a cot. My explorers is great for families, free luggage store, great pool open til 11pm, free bus (no 54 from outside the station) beware, bus out goes direct to explorers (5 mins tops), bus in (to disney) goes to dream castle, kyriad and holiday inn on way (so 12-15 mins). My explorers is cheaper out of season, you can get it for about 115 e, but we have just paid a punishing 215-250e a night (for six inc breakfast) depends when you go. It is open 24hrs so it doesn't matter when you arrive. You can walk from my explorers to the park in 25 mins on decent pavement, including a very nice walk if you go via the santa fe. There is a 24 hour esso garage halfway (near the entrance to santa fe). It is not particularly cheap, nor does it sell a full range of stuff but for those who have forgotton something it sells the essentials. Booze sales stop at 10pm. (sorry if I make this sound like booze is an essential !) It is good for picking up bottles of water/coke etc. on the way into the park as a coke/water is now 2.75 for a small bottle, as opposed to 85c for a 1.5lt bottle of water at the garage - when they are checking your bags on the way in, they are not looking for bottles of coke/sandwiches etc. they are not bothered, we even ate ours on the tables in the disney outside restaurants and were never queried.
Another tip if you are a bigger family is get the annual pass, for a family of 5 or more, this is the same price as getting a 2 day pass and cheaper than a 3 day. If you are very money saving (like us) we have two hols in a year for 4 or 5 days a go. Even if you are not, you get 10% of the shops and the restaurants with the pass.
In Val d'europ ( 2 mins from disney, 1.50 e on the train) there is a big auchan supermarket selling literally everything (prams, motorbikes, clothing, every sort of adaptor you may have forgotton) water there is 38c for 1.5ltr, it is open til 10pm. There is a small play area in the centre. Closed sundays.
This time we gave mysuite village montevrain/ val d'europ a go. We went for the biggest villa with three beds and two bathrooms. For 150e a night (height of summer holidays - it won't get any dearer !!!) we got: ground floor, into lounge/kitchen/diner - biggish room with table for six, kitchenette had microwave/grill, 4 rings, big fridge freezer, dishwasher, leather sofa, desk with free unlimited wifi, terrace with furniture. Up to 1st floor, 2 superking bedrooms, bathroom (bath with overhead shower) and sep. toilet, up to second floor, superking bed ensuite with balcony/chairs. reception helpful but closes at 7.30pm (6pm some times in the year) and you really would have to ring them if you were going to be late as you simply would not get in. Outdoor pool and indoor gym. pros: spotlessly clean spacious living accom, cheaper than disney, none of the razzmatazz or noise cons: you have to be a keen walker to get to it. It is 25 mins walk from val d'europ (lit but lonel pavements). A bus goes every 30 mins (from Val) and takes either 5 mins or 18 mins depending on the time of day (about 2 e) last bus around 9pm alternately, a 10 seater taxi cost 15e door to door (you ring). It is annoyingly close to the back of the film studios, but you can only go in via the main routes (we tried !!!!)
There is also nothing for young children at all, not surprising at the price, but not even a play area where they congregate - I get the impression that some people rent the apartments longer term. Parc Apartments were round the corner, and although I cannot say as we didn't stay there, they look a similar set up.
I can see the apartments being good for bigger groups who will make their own entertainment, and use a 10 seater taxi rather than smaller families.
Anyway, hope this helps

Hello all,
Been reading this thread with interest...
I'm planning to go with my other half later this year (Dec):
Eurostar return from Pancras to DLP = £170
3 nts @ Disney Santa Fe Hotel = £260
Total = £430 for us both.
This includes Park Tickets entry aswell.
If I book via quidco, maybe another £15 or so off this price.
Does this seem a good deal?
