We took drinks into the parks, i think they check your bags for anything that could be used as a weapon etc.

Although I did find it a bit intrusive on the second day when they went THROUGH my handbag! Didnt like that, nothing to hide but it was a bit personal. The first day they just looked into the top of my daughters changing bag but the second was very indepth with ALL bags we had

  • We've just returned from our second trip of the year here is a summary of what worked for us.

    Trip one
Late Feb 08 the Dream Castle hotel, 4 nights for a family of 4 + return Eurostar from London cost £450 through Expedia. Highly recommend this hotel, modern, comfortable and clean. Nice pool if you get chance for a swim. The breakfast was a bit of a scrum and the cereals were not at all nice but I guess they are all a but like that.
The shuttle bus service to the four 'partner' hotels seemed efficient, they were full but we never had to wait more than 10 mins.

Bought annual passes when we arrived, 129 Euros per adult for the 'Fantasy' passes and the child passes were free (one child pass free with each adult). We also used the 10% discount it you get a voucher from another annual pass holder however on arrival at the annual passport office they made us pay the extra 10% saying that we couldn't have that as well as the free child passes.
We have definitely got our money's worth on these, there a re a few dates tat you can't visit using them but these are quite limited and you can easily plan your trip(s) around them if you check the dlp website in advance. You recieve a 10% discount in the shops and food outlets (including Disney Village), this soon mounts up if you buy food in the parks.
Car parking is also free with the Fantasy annual pass saving 8 Euro a visit.

    Trip 2
Aug 08 Decided to take advantage of our annual passes and booked one week in a cottage in nearby Coupvray. We had days out elsewhere and then once we had finished we were close enough to pop into the parks for a few hours in the evenings. This was great for catching the parade and Fireworks just before closing. Was relieved to find that although there were more people in the park the queues were no worse than in Feb.

The cottage worked out very good value, very spacious and had 2 double bedrooms and a double sofa bed so would comfortably sleep 6. 700 Euros a week in Aug but from only 400 Euro most of the rest of the year.
As we are likely to travel to France a few times in the next year we bought a carnet of 6 (3 returns) Dover-Calais ferry crossings from Sea France which worked out at £32 each way. This provides fully amendable tickets and we actually ended up changing both crossings within a few hours of travelling each time and had no problems or extra charges for doing so. You can also transfer one of your return crossings to someone else if you don't think you will travel that much in a year.

Our children were 2 and 4 and it seemed a great age for both of them, even the two year old remembered things from the first trip and was asking to do them again this time.

Just back last night. Think you might be better off at the duty free shop at the ferry or wherever. We travelled Eurotunnel and their shop at Calais seemed very good value.
