I think I am missing a trick or being thick - I put in 2 adults, 2 kids 7 and 5 for May half term dates for Sequoia Lodge on the uk site and on the france site, and the french site is coming out dearer (it looks like the same things are included, but my french is limited to a google translate) - uk site is giving as a deal 2 nights and 2 days free + free hotel and park tickets for under 7, french website is giving 40% discount on your stay + stay for under 12 offered

Also - anyone know how you actually take up the kid under 7 flys free on Flybe - do you need to book directly with disneyland travel to get this?

yes i'd imagine you would have to book your qualifying flights through disneyland travel, along with your hotel and park tickets, to be eligible for any free flight deal they may be advertising.
  • this year I'd say wait until after April - as thats the start of the 25th anniversary year at DLP, and from now until then there will be a lot of ride closures. I'd have a look at the French site for your May dates - as their offer is up to 40% off and free under-12s, so if you prefer 3 nights instead of 4 that could be a good deal for you.
Thank you, I had noticed the ride closures, I'll check the French site, thanks for the tip!
  • Hi all,
We (wife and I plus 2 kids, 6 and 3) are doing 4 nights at DLP staying at the Cheyenne from 22nd Feb. Really need some help deciding what to do about meals. We didn't book any meals (except for the included breakfast) at the time of booking and so I was considering adding on one of the half board packages (probably the plus as it includes character dining at Cafe mickey). For the four of us this comes to £320 for the four nights which seems like a lot but I thought at least we wouldn't have to worry about evening meals.
Reading back a couple of pages I saw balletshoes (who seems to be the expert) advised someone that a prepaid card may be better? I wonder, if you read this balletshoes, if you could elaborate on what this is and how it works?
I also had another couple of questions I hope you lovely people can help with...

Is there a pool at the Cheyenne?
Do we qualify for the extra magic hours (i.e. 8am entry) staying at the Cheyenne?

Thanks all in advance for any help you can give.

June is a good time to go then, midweek always (weekends are very busy at DLP). I'd be very surprised if DLP is fully booked for May half term, but possibly it is via Thomas Cook?
With the meal plans, you get a voucher per person per night booked onsite (not per day). So for example if you are staying 4 nights onsite, you get 4 meal plan vouchers per person.

Quite possibly. We had half board last time we went and after a trip to the supermarket to make up sandwiches for the two days we were there, the vouchers for breakfast, meal (we had at 6.30pm) and snack (drink & cake between 3-6pm if I remember correctly) managed to keep us full.

Anyway, after a bit of messing around on the TC website I found if I split us into two rooms I would save £500+ - crazy! You'd think having a family of 6 in a family room would be cheaper than having them in two rooms :o I'm quite happy with this price and hoping to pop into our local branch to see if they'd knock it a little bit more, especially if I mention using a cashback site (which I'd get about £70 from) - we'll see anyway. Thanks balletshoes for your help x
    Thanks to all posters :A

http://www.disneylandparis.co.uk/hotels/disneys-hotel-cheyenne/ according to that no swimming pool.

I think you do, I'm sure when we booked last time they said as we were staying "onsite" we had the magic hours.

A prepaid card is like a debit card but you don't have a bank account. You can get them from travel agents or online, you basically add money to it to use like a normal card. Be aware of the fees though and research thoroughly :)

jailbaby has already answered about the prepaid card question :), if having the money already put away for your meals isn't an issue then I'd not even bother with that to be honest, I'd just take the money with me and use it for meals as I'm going along. That way you have full flexibility to eat as you go, where you like, and when you like.

You do get Extra Magic Hours staying at the Cheyenne, and no, it doesn't have a pool.
  • Thanks jailbaby and balletshoes. I guess for some reason I was under the impression that the prepaid vouchers worked out slightly cheaper than paying as you went along.
Can I just confirm something I think I read in one of the earlier posts? If you do buy a meal plan, you have to buy it for all the nights you are there? I.e. in our case we would have to buy for all four nights rather than be able to do 2 nights vouchers and 2 nights paying for meals?
Also did I read earlier that there are 30 min time slots for the breakfast Buffets?

yes, you have to buy the same level of meal plan, for everyone in your party, for the entire duration of your stay, or not at all.

The timeslots for breakfast buffets are guide times only, you will get a timeslot for each morning when you check in at your hotel, but if you want to go at another time you can (all the onsite hotels breakfast restaurants get stupidly busy between 7.45am and 9am so go earlier if you can and you'll be fine, regardless of what time is on your timeslot). You don't get kicked out of the restaurant after 30 minutes lol, you can take as long (or as short) a time as you like once you're in the restaurant.
  • Thanks balletshoes you are a star!

We have looked on the French site and it's so much cheaper! Has anyone booked through the French site before? I'm worried that I might make a mistake as my French is very basic, my husband is saying he feels cheeky booking it cheaper on the French site (he's not very MSE!) just pricing travel now which is working out stupidly expensive! If we decide to leave it a year and go next May half term, generally are similar deals on every year? Thanks for any advice.
