    Hi,

I have posted in here a long time back, but never got round to actually going to Disneyland for one reason and another..

Anyway, I am now looking at going in October. I have priced up a number of ways of doing it and I am almost settled on: Eurostar over to Disney and staying at Cheyenne, in 2 rooms as we are a family of 6. It is coming out at £1200 for 4 nights.

Is that particularly expensive... 2 adults, 4 children ages 7, 8, 15, 16. We miss out on the under 7's stay free.. and it seems they no longer do the under 12's stay free deal.

I also can't decide whether to add half board on for £550... or maybe book and upgrade nearer to the time.

Currently, if I add it on now through magic breaks, I get a free character breakfast..

there will be under-12s free offers later - but they won't be combined with the 2 nights free deal (i'm guessing thats what your current deal is?).
I wouldn't pay for a dining plan for DLP, put the money on a pre-paid card and use that for your meals instead, you have far more flexibility that way.

    Thanks.

If you don't recommend the dining plan in DLP then I might be better to look at my other option..

Explorer hotel in a family room for £690 for 4 days including breakfast. Purchasing the cheapest AP's with the 20% off. It works out a similar price, but with the added benefit of a pool, breakfast and the option for cheaper return trips :)

Actually, having only just checked, it looks as though out of the 3 AP's only Dreams can be used during the October school holidays :(

    That changes things a bit.

Are there any websites that sell Disney entrance tickets cheaper?

for October school holidays, not yet (thats right after the bi-annual DLP pricing structure changes, so you'd need to wait until pretty near your trip dates to be able to purchase park tickets instead of annual passes).

whats the price you're getting for onsite at the Cheyenne if you do a one-adult only package? I'm thinking as none of your children go free anymore, it might be cheaper considering a one-adult package (twice for 2 rooms) and then buying Classic AP's for all the kids (if you buy them by post from Disney themselves they have no blackout dates if you stay onsite with them).

Single adult at Cheyenne is coming out at £332.

that would save you a bit then ie 2x £332 = £664, plus 4x 135 euros = £460 ish, so a total of £1,124, and you'd be able to use the APs for discounts in the shops and restaurants. Even better value if you think you might go to DLP again before October 2018.

Its still early to book accommodation (either onsite or offsite) for October this year, although onsite will always be fairly expensive the last 2 weeks of October (peak time at DLP).

I can't see how that works, sorry I'm probably being dim? Where am I paying for the kids accommodation?

you book 2 rooms, both on a one-adult package, a standard room is for 4 guests, so your children join you in the 2 rooms, you are not charged for this for anyone under 12, and for the other 2 its only local room tax (which is no more than about 3 euros per night each for them both). You just add the kids names to the room when you check in, its that simple.

eta, I do this every time I stay onsite now at DLP, as I have at least one teenager with me, so I have at least one AP in the mix, and at least one name to add to my room when we check in.

    Aaaah right.

I didn't know that was even allowed. Won't they question why we didn't book them in to begin with?
That does work out a few hundred cheaper then the other alternative... Although I am considering just getting us all Dreams AP's and making the most of them for a year.

    Something to think about....
