Thank you so much! It helps a lot.
I've done a little more research and I'm thinking about buying annual passes now.

Anyone have any experience of staying in a private apartment nearby that is good for a family of 5? Looking for somewhere that's really nice but on a budget.

One further question is, has anyone bought from Supertrips or Discount ticket store? Can the voucher that you receive via email be used to enter the park immediately? Obviously after visiting the annual passport office to register. My husband has read somewhere that it's not valid for the first 2 days after purchase but I cant find any info.

    Thanks again!
Wins to date: Pair of tickets to the Diamond Jubilee garden party & concert 2012. A Persil bunny. :D

If you buy fantasy or dream annual passes, including from supertrips or discount ticket store, you can use them straightaway. It's the classic annual passes which have 2 non-contractual dates.
Just be careful if staying offsite that your annual passes are not blocked out for any of your dates.

Is it advisable to make restaurant bookings in advance of trip even for the buffet restaurents at hotels? Eg Davy Crockett one. Going may half term and booking had the free meal plan or we wouldn't have had it. did all self catering last time and never set foot in a restaurant.

I did make reservations before for DLP in October week, but that was in the parks for specific restaurants that I knew we wanted to try.

First time (although that was in 2009) we were allocated little dinner tickets giving us our times that we were to be in the hotel restaurant.

Not sure if that is still what happens.

That was beginning of June, and it was heaving, although that was with the time-slot allocation, so not sure if that is still used.

  • Hi,

I've just booked for myself and my daughter (13) to go to DLP on 21st June for 3 nights staying at Explorers hotel. I have been to DLP before but not for quite a while so have a few questions if anyone would be kind enough to answer them.

Is the bus to Explorers easy to locate?

We arrive at around 6pm. I was thinking of dropping luggage at hotel and then making our way back to Disney village for dinner at around 8pm to start our holiday off in style then getting an early night before a full day the next day. I was thinking Caf! Mickey..should I pre book?

How busy will the parks be at this time of year? The last time I went with my other daughter it was so busy we only went on a couple of rides.

On our last day our train departs early evening so I was intending to spend a few hours in whichever of the parks is my daughters favourite. On my last visit I remember leaving my cases at the station, can this still be done?

Sorry for all the questions. The last time my daughter went to DLP she was only two and can't remember it so I want to make it memorable for her as we've had a tough couple of years.

yes, the bus stop where you get on at the Village is opposite the onsite bus stops, next to the train station

definitely pre-book for Cafe Mickey, its always busy.

midweek in June is a lovely quiet time to go, with very long park hours :).

On our last day our train departs early evening so I was intending to spend a few hours in whichever of the parks is my daughters favourite. On my last visit I remember leaving my cases at the station, can this still be done?
yes, there is still a luggage locker room at the train station. Or, if you are on the direct Eurostar service home, you can pay 11 euros to your hotel reception and they will transfer your luggage for you to the train station, where you'll pick it up prior to getting on the Eurostar at the Disney Express collection window inside the train station.

Sorry for all the questions. The last time my daughter went to DLP she was only two and can't remember it so I want to make it memorable for her as we've had a tough couple of years.

Hope this helps, and enjoy your trip :).

Some waits can still be lengthy though, so remember that, whilst you are out of season, we went at the beginning of June and still found long waits for popular rides.

Remember there are a lot of new rides from your last visit such as the Toy Story areas (never found that overly busy queue-wise), Ratatouille (very busy) and Crush Coaster (very busy).

Remember to use your fast pass too especially for those I mentioned above, unless you get lucky queue wise..

no don't worry I didn't mean its a bad buffet dinner, far from it, its just that its not "onsite" and close to the parks at DLP like the other restaurants in the hotels are, so theres always plenty of availability for seats etc at the Davy Crockett buffet, because its DCR guests who are the ones who'll be using it, not other DLP hotel guests. Does that make sense?
