any hints / tips for our 1st upcoming stay welcome!

also curious as to how much spending money we should take?

no, its not worth paying for any meal plan at DLP. you can get cheap buffalo bills tickets on the French (isle-de-france) version of the official DLP site (under spectacle).

In April, you'll have swing into spring season, which has extra shows etc on the programme, lovely to see on a clear sunny spring day :).

You can get an idea of food prices on the DLPguide.com site, then a bit for snacks and souvenirs, and you're set. You can spend as little or as much as you like at DLP really.

Thanks I think the cheap tickets were just for the 9:30 show when I last looked but will check again as we would need the earlier show with two Young children

  • We did DLP in Half term, and I have to say the experience was disappointing. We stayed at Davey Crocket which gave us some control over food, and didn't book a meal plan.
We did reserve a table at Cafe Mickey for a Character meal. It turned out that by the time we were served the kids were way too tired to eat, becoming fussy about simple things like the pizza that was served. As result I was glad I hadn't booked a meal plan. We missed Disney Dreams that night - the whole point of booking tables at that time was to make seeing the show special.
After waiting 2 hours to see one princess, the kids weren't bothered at all in queuing to see others.
Fast Passes weren't always working. Magic Hours "upto" turned out to be 3 or 4 rides open and the chance to queue extra early for everything else.
The pool was closed due to a fault, we were sent to a different pool. Because of that, food and other plans, driving back to the Village section pretty much messed up that day completely.
A lot of the shine was taken off the park because of the hordings.
I certainly won't be going back, though the kids did enjoy themselves. It's not the once in a lifetime magic they would have you believe.
  • Hi,

OK need some help here please as the alternative is cancellation.

Due to my snoring levels we cant all sleep in the same room and having tried to book another room at the santa fe is basically twice the price as they want to reinclude everything inc breakfast/park entry etc ( cant blame them TBH )

So my alternative is booking another hotel and staying the night in that. Is there anywhere near/commutable on foot etc that people can suggest please? The other issue is how long do DLP hotels keep your passport as Im sure its overnight but the wife says not. I would need my passport for the alternative hotel.

    Any help please?

Santa Fe had my passport for all of 2 minutes 2 weeks ago.

As for the snoring, have you tried any remedies? My husband has just started using some throat strips from boots and the difference is remarkable.

Friends book 2 interconnecting rooms for their family to have 4 beds - they just book each room for 1 adult and 1 child. Have you tried something like that? Otherwise explorers and dream castle etc are all walkable from santa fe (around 10-15 minutes).

  • all remedies tried so no good.

everything is booked and in place.....just need to find me somewhere else to literally sleep overnight :-(
  • When we went to the Cheyenne last time there was a corridor next to the loo which then went to the rooms door. In the santa fe is there a similar corridor in the room that you could bung an airbed down on? in a standard room? ( hopefully to match er indoors silicone earplugs )

    Cheers

Not really - it's very narrow and part of the room.
