Lol, I sure will. I'm just waiting on getting the photo's countersigned then off they go :D

"call the cheap rate number first from a UK landline - 0844 200 90 90, then the Disney dining reservations number on 0033 160 304050"

Sorry Balletshoes, maybe I'm being dim, but is there a code you can dial before the french reservation number to reduce the rate of the call? I thought I read somewhere that there was. Am I correct in thinking that you can't reserve tables on the 0844 number?

the cheap rate number is 0844 200 9090 - this gives you calls to French landlines, from your UK landline, for 0.5p per minute. This is your "code" number.

So if you follow my directions as above, you are calling the Disney Dining reservations number, and its costing you 0.5p per minute.

Ah right, got it, thank you. I'm a bit of a drip at times :rotfl:
  • Does anyone know how much it costs to park in Disneyland?
The apartment we are looking at is 10 minutes away from Disney and doesnt have shuttle.
Would it be cheaper to get the train?
    Thank you!
  • Hi

I'm new here so bare with me!

It's probably been asked SOOOO many times before, but, I am looking at booking now for next March (2015). I saw on the DLP website that Hotel Cheyenne will be about £555 for 2 adults and 2 children (ages will be 4 and 3 at the time of travel) and this includes park passes for us all too.

Now, we don't live near London so I am thinking of flying there from Manchester Airport. Does anyone know if this is a good idea? Are connections from the airport in France to DLP easy...and are they expensive? Would it be cheaper for us to travel to London and Eurostar it, etc?

I have no idea where to look for these things. Is there a way of paying a deposit now on DLP and to pay it off monthly?

Also, is the last week in March a good time to go? We are thinking 26th March (Thurs), coming back on 30th March (Mon).

    Sorry for 20 questions...!!! :)

    Thanks

It was around 18 euros per day in the main car park, haven't used the car park so far this year, but can't imagine it's over 20 yet.
No idea about the train -sorry!

depending on where your apartment is (val d'europe or bussy st george) you could be a lot cheaper taking the train in - single journey tickets from val d'europe to Marne la Vallee per adult start at around 1.40 euros, half price for children aged 4 to 11, free for under-4s.

There is also a free shuttle bus from val d'europe to DLP and back, it starts at around 8.45am each day and runs usually until after Dreams at park closing time.

yes connections from Paris CDG airport out to DLP are easy - but they're not cheap. At a minimum you're looking at around 50 euros each way.
For a comparison, if you manage to book the Eurostar at its cheapest price (the day the fares become available) you would pay around £70 return per adult, and £50 return per child (if you want to pay for a seat for your 3-year old). This takes you straight to the park gates at DLP.
I'm in the Midlands, and I'm driving down to Ebbsfleet and taking the Eurostar from there rather than London, as overnight hotels etc are cheaper at Gravesend/Dartford, compared to London.

I have no idea where to look for these things. Is there a way of paying a deposit now on DLP and to pay it off monthly?

yes - if you phone DLP to book your trip, you can choose to pay 15% deposit plus booking fee of £16, then you can phone them to pay off what you like as and when you like, up to 60 days before your trip begins.

Also, is the last week in March a good time to go? We are thinking 26th March (Thurs), coming back on 30th March (Mon).

your dates in March seem to be good - you miss all the French school holidays, and its not quite Easter week yet. The only thing I'd say though is, if you can avoid Saturdays and Sundays at DLP, please do. Its always much much busier at the weekends, and with 2 little ones you won't get a lot done on those days.
  • I'm looking into booking table reservations for our evening meals now (via the cheap call number with thanks to balletshoes :) ). I've already got the tickets for the Buffalo Bill show for one evening so I'm looking at what to do for the remaining 3 nights.

We have got the half board plus vouchers. I was thinking Cafe Mickeys and inventions for 2 of the nights. I know we will have to pay on top of the voucher value in inventions, but I thought that it would be worth it for the experience. But someone I know, who has been to DLP lots of times has said that they don't think that Inventions is worth the extra cost. They say that the Cafe Mickey meal will be basically the same thing (as far as the characters go), so spending the extra money for inventions is a waste and that we would be better off keeping the money and spending it elsewhere.

What does everyone else think? Is it worth it? Is there anywhere else that we should be considering? This is a special holiday for us, we've never been to DLP before and I don't know when we will go again, so it is really important to me that ourselves and more importantly our DD's get the best experience that we can give them, so we don't mind the extra cost if it's worth it, but we don't want to waste our time and money either.

    Many TIA :) x

I tend to agree with your friend, the characters you are likely to see at Inventions and Cafe Mickey will be more or less the same.
However, the food and atmosphere is completely different at both restaurants.
If you're going to pay extra on top of your half board plus vouchers for Inventions, how about the Auberge de Cendrillon princess lunch instead of Inventions? You are guaranteed to see Princesses there, not the regular Disney characters that you see in Cafe Mickey, and if you have little girls, they'd be in their element there!

Okies thank you :) I just looked into the princess meal on the dip website and they are only showing lunch as an add on option. Do you know if they do have evening meals there? To look into the cost and availability, I put our holiday dates into the quote system and our exact holiday has come up £127.58 cheaper :( Do you know if theres anyway of getting this price drop reflected in our booking? I know the chances are slim, but I thought I'd ask just in case.
