We are off to DLP on Wednesday staying at Davy's Crockett Ranch and have a few questions we appreciate advice on as follows:

1 - Where is the best place to stop to buy food from a supermarket?
2 - Are there any restaurants worth visiting close by?
3 - What is best way to get in to Paris by train from DCR?

Any other tips for first timers?

    Cheers
  • you might get lucky and find an offer on fnac (no membership fees and print-your-own tickets) so keep an eye on their website. Otherwise for 2 days you're probably just as well checking out the French version of the official DLP site, plus the usual suspects (attractiontix, travelrepublic etc)

Thanks for previous advice Ballet Shoes, but:
Trying to book tickets today on the official french dlp site.
And have found 'Parisian tickets' available.
They are cheaper than other offers, we can find.
They are e-tickets so we are able to purchase them.
But does anyone know if we can use them at the entrance to dlp?

Sorry, Can only help with your first query - we use Auchan at Val d'Europe as you can get practically anything you want there, but there is a Carrefour nearby and I believe there is also a Lidl not too far away.

There is the main train station at the entrance to DLP which takes you straight into the centre of paris - depending on your group size, they also do good 'travel card' rates for family tickets - called mobilis.
Restaurants - at val D'europe there is a forecourt of restaurants and also BEFORE you got through the main entrance to DLP - off behind the multiscreen cinema, there's a whole road FULL of restaurants and shops.
Recommend the 'hippo' restaurant at Val D'europe!

Also - if you've not already done it - check out ce-multiavantages.com as it's also got great deals….

I have a 2 year old who would love to go, and a pregnant wife who would also love to go, but is a little worried about whether she'd be able to go on the rides.

So, as a little treat for our very well behaved daughter before her brother or sister arrives we are thinking of going during May.

In terms of the rides that you could take a 2 year old on, could you go on whilst being 7 months pregnant?

I'll try and work my way through this thread for other advice on booking the trip, but any advice on the most economical way to go would be great. Packages with park, hotel and train or all seperate?

these are the ride restrictions (the description of each one tells you if expectant mothers should ride) -

when in May can you go, and how many nights would you prefer? Midweek is best, avoid all weekends, and avoid the last week of May.

We should be able to go any time in May. Maybe 4 nights to give 3 full days there.

Travelling from the South West so its probably either a case of driving to Ashford and getting the Eurostar or driving all the way....

    Many thanks for your help.

if you're taking the Eurostar, have a look now on the Eurostar website, see which dates that you can do have the cheap fares (there is an indirect service too, you'll be able to see the beginning of May's times and prices for the indirect service, they come out on sale 90 days in advance of travel).

On the French or Belgian version of the DLP website there is a good discount offer at the moment, and in May the parks will be open until at least 10.30pm each night, so I wouldn't worry about getting 3 full days in - you could do 3 nights and still get the equivalent of 3 full days park time :). Park tickets for the duration of your stay are included if you stay onsite and book through DLP.
