great, thank you. how can i find out how much the standard meal vouchers are worth?
do you use vouchers at cafe mickey? thank for your help!! :)

the face value of the vouchers will be printed on the back of each one when you get them at check-in at your hotel (if you have a DLP glossy brochure the details are in there too). Yes, I use vouchers at face value at Cafe Mickey, with no problems.

Hopefully someone can advise on a quote I've had for the 1st week of the school holidays 28th July - 1st August.

First time we've been to DLP, so no idea if this is good or not.

Decided to price it up ourselves, for 2 adults and 2 children under 11 staying in the Kyriad (B&B) and travelling by Eurostar to Paris, then onwards to DLP.

    The total cost is £1300.

    All opinions welcomed.

where did you get your quote for the Kyriad, and does that include park tickets?
I wouldn't take the Eurostar to Paris, I'd wait for the indirect fare to DLP to come out (90 days before travel) and book that instead - its far less hassle than the journey from Paris on to DLP, and if you book them on the day of release, you should still get the cheapest fares.

How old are your children? kids under 7 are free in July/August onsite, but you usually have to pay for children aged 7 and over.

As with all things, cost is an emotive topic, what is worthwhile to one, will not be to another!

However, you asked for opinion but on what? I'm surmising that your after are opinion on whether that is a good price but you need to provide what the other quotes were and perhaps a breakdown of the price in order to base any opinion on them! It is at the end of the day all relative, are you looking for the cheapest deal or the best value or something else and it all needs to fit into your personal criteria.

For instance, where you are based and whether you could drive is a consideration but not mentioned.

Happy to help but I for one haven't the time to research all the options for you and provide an answer!

We're based in West Wales, and the Kids are 8 and 10.

The cost is broken down as follows:

    Eurostar direct to Paris: £320
    Hotel & B&B: £430 (via Travel Republic)
    Park Tickets: £528 (Via Disney)

Can you expand on what the hassle is in travelling from Paris to DLP?

Just trying to get a feel if the above represents decent value or not.

    Thanks in advance

If you take the eurostar to paris, you then have 2 further changes to make, by metro and then RER, to reach DLP. If you take the indirect Eurostar to DLP you have only one change at the same station (lille) and then the TGV to DLP. you pay once and its a through~ticket for the whole journey to DLP. You can get these fares for 69 pounds per adult return, 49 pounds per child return.

You could get the park entry a little cheaper (and get discounts at DLP on food and souvenirs etc) by buying fantasy annual passes for the 2 adults (if blackout dates work for your trip) and getting childs annual passes from ebay. if you know anyone in france who could allow you to use their residential address you could do it even cheaper through promoparcs.

Thanks for the really useful information.

Would I have to purchase the tickets separately i.e. London to Lille and Lille to DLP or can you purchase them on one website.

For the Eurostar to Lille. do they come out exacltly 90 days before & do I need to book on that day?

I'll check dlrpmagic for the annual passes.

Do you think its a good idea to book the hotel now and sort out the train and tickets at a later date?

    Sorry for all the questions!!

Book the indirect with eurostar and you get the whole return journey for one ticket price. for your dates you should be ready to book on the morning of 3rd or 4th may (90 days before your return journey date).

I would look at booking the kyriad on a fully cancellable rate in case a good deal for onsite comes up. ebookers could be a good site to look at for the kyriad and they often have discount codes floating around (and cashback is often a good rate for ebookers too).

You have plenty of time to source park tickets/annual passes ~ you dont really need to look at ordering those until a couple of months before your trip.

one more thing ~ if you are at all flexible with your trip dates and length of stay (ie 3 nights instead of 4) you might find good deals onsite on the official DLP site but using their french ( or any other country,s) version of the site. different countries get different discounts but anyone from any country can use them.

So you need to get from West Wales to either London or Ashford which needs to be considered in the grand scheme of things.

To throw into the mix / decision making process, is driving from West Wales an option?

If so, as a guide, I always allow 4 / 4.5 hrs from Bristol to Dover, less for Folkestone, you could stay overnight using Premier Inn / TravelLodge and cross in the morning - driving to DLRP is easy enough and of course you have everything in the car and the room to take everything!

Taking into account ferry., overnight accommodation and fuel should be cheaper than the £240 for the Eurostar and of course that includes the costs of getting to London / Ashford.
