Seventh Anniversary First Post Combo Breaker
hi im taking my 9 year old daughter for 3 days in febuary, ive read many comments from here and trip adviser etc but can anyone answer me this question.. im flying intp cdg airport airport around 8pm and was just wondering whats the most convient way to get to our Disney hotel there is only 2 of us only 1 bag each so not much luggage, do I really have to book train tickets or bus tickets online or can I just arrive at the airport and take a bus or train to the hotel ? if taking a train do I have to purchase a ticket before I go on the train or can I just buy it on the train as you can in the uk? everytime ive been on the train from schipool airport to Amsterdam central ive never bought a ticket just went on the train and no conducter has ever came on on ive done this around 5 times, is this the same traveling from cdg to Disney..? im not trying to skip the fare but can I just go on the train and buy on there and how much does it cost for adult and child.. any help would be appreciated thanks.

Your problem with an 8pm flight arrival is that you may not be in time to catch either the last coach or train out to DLP from CDG.
Check sncf or rail europe now to see what time the last train out is ~ if you have hold luggage to collect you will need to leave one hour between your estimated arrival time and your train (or coach) departure time.
if taking the train you will need to buy your tickets before boarding the train ~ there is no facility at all to buy on the train. you can buy your tickets at the station.
if travelling by coach you can pay the driver as you get on the bus. chech VEA website for coach times.
if you suspect you may arrive after the last coach or train of the evening, book a shuttle in advance ~ because the meter taxi fare for the journey can be in excess of 100 euros.
For price comparison, VEA coach is around 30 euros total each way for your party, TGV train is from 28 euros up to around 42 euros depending on your time of travel, and a shuttle price booked in advance would be around 40 euros.

Hi there! Hoping you kind people can help. Hubby and I have been talking about holidays etc and we couldn't decide on anything. Whilst watching tv this evening I suddenly thought about DLP ( and have to admit I'm far too excited about it for a 30+ yr old :) ) .

Anyway, there would be myself, hubby and our 3 kids who would be 6,7 and 3 at the time. We'd like to go anytime between 30th June and 19th July. I'm guessing 4 nights would be best. I don't think We'd want to drive as we live in north East Scotland so it would be an almighty car trip with 3 over excited littleys.

Having only ever been abroad once when I was younger I have no clue what I'm doing or how to find the best deals etc when going out of the country so any help anyone can offer would be fantastic! I did a search in the DLP website but it only ever came up with davey Crockett ranch, is that the only place that craters for more than 4 people?

Thanks again for any help :)

  • Hoping for advice, thinking of doing the Eurostar to Disneyland Paris never tried this before, was just about to book flights and my DS has decided he wants to go on the train instead !! We live near Manchester so it means a Virgin train into London then over to St Pancreas for the Eurostar, ticket prices are still quite good but mentions it does not go direct to DLP and there is a change of train involved, just wondered how easy this was in a foreign country when you don't speak much of the language, any advice welcome !!

yes - because you are a party of 5, all aged 3 or over, the only onsite accommodation which will take you all in a standard room is the Davy Crockatt ranch - and you'd need to take your car as there is no public transport from there to DLP, and its 15 minutes drive away from the parks.

Whats your budget for travel, hotel and park tickets?

To be honest, unless you get good flights from Edinburgh or Glasgow to Paris CDG (or if you can drive down to Manchester or further south to get flights) you're going to be cheaper driving the whole way - I believe there is ferry which leaves from Hull (you'd need to check thats still current though). Your other option is getting the train down to London and taking the Eurostar, but again, that might be expensive at the time of year you're looking to go.

When pricing up your trip, avoid Friday and Saturday as your check-in day - this always ups the prices at and around DLP.

I'm taking the indirect Eurostar (it stops at Lille and you change trains there) in April - from another forum it looks very straightforward. Off the Eurostar, up the stairs/escalator to the concourse, look for your train number (it will be on your tickets) to Marne la vallee, then head for your platform for that train.

I've used the TGV trains in France, its very easy and you don't need to read or speak French to get around on them (its a TGV train you take from Lille to Marne la vallee).

Thanks for that ballet shoes. No budget as such. We looked into going to lanzarote and that was coming in at £1700:eek: for flights and accommodation so anything less than that would be a bonus! Had a look on the site and it quotes around £800 but then you click to book and it shoots up to over £1000, is there a reason for this? I'm probably being really daft not knowing. Going by car seems to be the only option so we could maybe split the journey in 2 and stay over somewhere, a travel inn or something halfway :)

if you're driving and want to go as far south as folkestone you could take the Eurotunnel or ferry, and drive down, stay overnight, across to France early in the morning, and then come back evening, and again stay in Folkestone that night, before driving back up to Scotland. I'm in the Midlands, but from the North East of Scotland originally - how long would you want to drive for before stopping for the night?

I don't know why your price is changing - what dates are you looking at, how many nights?

eta - just had a look for you - I'm seeing £806 - are you un-ticking all the insurance etc options when you go through the booking pages? If you untick everything and sort out your travel yourself, the price should stay at £806 plus booking fee of (i think) £16.

I think the computer was just playing silly beggars, I closed the window and put all the info in again and the price stayed the same that time. Hoping to stay for 4 nights I think. Give us a chance to see everything. Dates I put in are 30th June - 4th July.

That travel idea of yours sounds like a good one, make the most of a full day at the park on arrival day.

Have a look at the DLP packages with M-Line travel in Alloa. 4 of us are going in August for £1499, all travel (coach and ferry) , accomodation, 2 days park tickets included. Not sure about meals though...breakfast I think only ! AS I've never taken the 2 kids abroad I thought that I'd try it this way first. They do packages for 5+ parties.
I was getting silly prices when I tried to book DLP with travel included. It's worth a look :D
Must learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D

Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p
