Well, cautiously optimistic this morning.
However, it's a shame that it had to get this far.
MSE, would literally cane any other organisation that caused it's users inconvenience for months on end and took the intervention of the head honcho to get it sorted!Early retired - 18th December 2014

You don't know that, the forum team might have raised it before with Martin Lewis, they have nothing to gain from not raising it with senior management.
It was only yesterday that the company said it would put the resources in place to deal with it. That decision might have been because Martin Lewis was contacted on Twitter, according to one poster, so was reacting to stop bad publicity having been aware of it for some time, and not as you say, because the first that Martin Lewis knew about spam was yesterday.0 -
Well it seems yesterdays fixes seems to have done the trick so far. Yet of course it's early days and we'll continue to monitor and work on it.

Yes.
As I said earlier in another thread though, these people/bots/whatever are often very good at adapting to and circumventing new measures given a little time. So I agree, it is very early to say just yet.
Fingers crossed though....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I wasn't saying that I thought the first time Martin Lewis was aware of the spam was yesterday. If that was the case, that would be really bad.
My point was that, if any other organisation caused their users inconvenience for months on end, MSE wpuldn't have hesitated to write negative articles about the organisation on their site. Yet, they themselves had allowed a situation to develop which was causing a lot of bad feeling. As they are supposed to be the consumers champion, they maybe should have looked closer to home and looked after their own consumers
It should have been nipped in the bud months ago, and never got to the stage where Martin Lewis had to apologise.
But onwards and upwards, I hope the situation has been resolved now.Early retired - 18th December 2014
