The gremlins have got through !

Seems to be some problem/error parsing a link if entered as is.

If I enter it explicitly using BBCode it seems to be OK as the forum doesn't need to convert, and doesn't end up doing it incorrectly then.

  • Let's hope tomorrow brings a clearer Board then.

We're all trying to think up what suggestions we can from a user pov to help with this (a situation made more awkward by any users who take an objective fact statement as to how it could be dealt with as a personal not-allowed opinion (when it isn't). There's always someone.....:(

Hopefully we'll be back to normal soon.

    Different is good :T :)

I have seen 2 names that I would have said were spammers come and go this morning with nothing showing :D
  • Fingers crossed then Torbrex that we've all "screamed" loud enough that that's that at last then = effective action has been taken.

Visions of those spammers exploding with apoplexy at being stopped at the pass....

Or they could hire staff to cover the overnight hours? that seems to be the problem, the working hours of staff.
They could but I don't think that it would be a cost-effective solution at current spamming levels. There are alternatives that could be used that are cheaper, some involving things like empowering more actions by non-employees.

A relatively low cost temporary relief form might be something like asking a long distance commuting employee to do a spam check before heading in to work, letting them arrive an hour later than normal as a matter of course when they find something to do. This is just shifting the time of work that would be done anyway, so may not have any extra cost. Doesn't address weekends, though.

Hopefully the fixes mentioned by MSE Zorica will be effective and with readily correctable glitches, if any. Usually does take a bit of tweaking to anti-spam rules.
