Spam isn't a one-off or weekend thing by any stretch of the imagination. The amount of time our team spends dealing with it throughout the week - work that you don't see - testifies to that.
Spam is removed once it's reported or the spam button used enough times so the home page figures shouldn't include those.
Spending time deleting after the event is a waste of the teams time as they just keep being posted.
They need stopping not just clearing up after them
Just logged on to see a page and a half of spam yet again which is just ridiculous. It's not just about the money0 -
Just to let the team know, I have personally given up reporting SPAM. After spending the whole evening, constantly reporting SPAM from the same user, it seems the team have not grasped the idea of PPRing the users, instead just deleting the posts as and when.
Its tedious for us members to constantly report this when it seems NOTHING happens about the member posting them. A whole evening of in excess of 90 spam posts by one member and the team still allow this one member a whole evening (one of many by many) to post successive spam one after the other. What is the point?
If I am likely to give up, you can guess many others already have and many more eventually will. All because you cannot get your heads in gear and block them from doing so.
When the threads eventually turns into a spamadic chaos, you will only have yourselves to blame.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

I'm with Marleyboy. Ridiculous how much Spam is about this morning.
None of the other Forums I visit have this problem! I don't WANT to log on in the morning for a gentle read with my cup of coffee and waste 30 minutes reporting gazillion posts as SPAM. Not my job.
I'm going to have to find somewhere else to peruse instead.
Sad days0 -
Just deleted nearly 100 threads off my boards this morning, but they are still posting.
This is getting very bad again and if MSE don't make good on their promise to sort it, I may just stop bothering to be honest.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

FGS, where are the team? These spammers were reported ages ago but they are still there and able to post more. :mad:0 -
I'm really getting fed up with this again. We delete what we can and report as soon as we see them but it then takes ages for any action to be taken and in the meantime more spammers join and post more rubbish.
Other forums I frequent do not have this problem and if they do, it's fixed - permanently - PDQ!
This ongoing fiasco and inability to deal with it on MSE is quite frankly a joke.Sort it out, for goodness sake.0 -
Over 100 threads deleted but are they counted in the home page stats? I expected the thread/post numbers to go down as the first count was mainly spam threads, since then over 100 have been deleted. Perhaps it will be reduced in the next update.
