madmoneys xmas pesky saving challenge

  • morning all how is every1 today?
    I was just thinking about how far ive come since starting my dfw journey:
    I have so far;
    1. STOPPED GAMBLING - This is a major breakthrough for me, I would spend 100 quid in a day and not think twice about it - it makes me feel sick to think that now!
    2. Refuse to pay to get my own money out of the cash machine down the road, so I wait till I go to work and use the tesco cash machine on the way if I need any money!
    3. Stopped giving OH unnecessary spending money - I felt that as he worked full time and I only worked part time he was "entitled" to spend his money!!
    4. Walking to work rather than paying for a lift/getting the bus/taxi even! - I cant believe how much money I used to waste on paying someone a fiver to take me t work!!! I now walk the 2 miles and feel healthier for it, as does my bank balance!
    5. Online shopping - stops me spending on non-essentials
    6. Saving!!! - If someone had of told me 6 months ago that I would have 60 quid saved towards xmas in october I would have laughed my head off!
    7. Cashback - How come I never did this before???!!!!
    8. Stopped spending on things I dont need!!

    Theres just 8 things I can think of off the top of my head, I cant believe how far Ive come!!

    What every1 else done along their dfw journey?

    hekko evry1, ok im a bad person i left u all wonderin and went away for the week and didnt get chance to let you know before i went! wrong of me im sorry.. :(
    anyway long story short, didnt get the job... "oh it was very close and a vey difficult decision and wed love you to apply again if anything else comes up in this office..." GET STUFFED! so, i spent all last fri (28th i mean now) getting drunk at dh's aunties house, eventually passing out on sette watching dirty dancing... then, pretty much the same saturday night (29th), but actually managed to get to my bed that time... slowly but surely...

    then, went to work 8.30-5.30 monday, got home chucked bags and dog in car and went down to caravan for the week. so, thats why ive not been on here so im very sorry for being a bad mse-er and i promise ill never do it again. oh, also not heard anything on the cmas job side either-so all in all not going to well for me work wise!!! altho have got an application in for a job which is a scale less then im on now admittedly, but is 6.5 hours a week more, 25 hours/wk instead of 18.5. so the money will be roughly the same and i dont start until 12.30 each day so can take my ds to school every day :) so anyway, waiting to them shortlisting that. infact, im now going to ring primark and see if theyve got owt available yet cos she said theyd let me know and they havent!!! go me go me.

    jo, what did you do re the job in the end? didnt know how far back i needed to read so dont know what u did in the end-read the part where the first interview offered you the job-but dunno what u decided to do in the end. (not nice being in suspense...sorry...again!)

    have you heard owt mm???? im probably about 1 1/2 weeks behind the times so please excuse me if im not very up to date.

    xxx
