Ok, there's a meeting at OHs work on Thursday, wondering if we'll find out on Friday or early next week?! been doing some sums. Working my 2 long days at work and half a day at home, i have worked out I will have enough to pay for bills + £75 on petrol + £250 on food +£50 clothes + £25 car misc + £25 presents +£50 spare money!!!! But not enough to pay the mortgage!!!! I'm hoping if OH is made redundant he will have a pay out that is enough to pay the mortgage for a year!

    Is still a major worry!
  • I think it's the not knowing that's the worst. Once you know exactly what is going on then you can make plans for it. Is your OH on the lookout for work, and does he have his CV up to date etc. so that if the worst happens he can be straight out looking for work. Redundancy is tough but manageable. I was furious with my DH when he took voluntary redundancy in April last year - but he was back in work by the beginning of August (the payout covered the 3 months he didn't work), and then his company went bust on Christmas Day - so as you can imagine I was pleased that he had taken the redundancy after all.

Hey crazy cat lady, yes all cv and courses are up to date, honestly they first told everyone it was happening 9 weeks ago!! Talk about drag it out!!

I've done my exercise!!! First time in a long time! And I've eaten pretty healthily, although drank far too much coffee! Am pleased with myself as I really didn't want to be good, but it makes a change, I feel so much better for it!

Have been a bit up and down this past few days so sorry for not posting. Am a little depressed and unhappy with OH being away and still not knowing about his job, my back has started to give me a lot of pain again so need to go to the Drs too. Everything just seems a bit rubbish at the moment. Littlies are driving me a bit mental as they really want to be going back to nursery and work is rubbish, just need a hug I guess! :(
  • :grouphug:Ah, feel better soon.

That is a group hug by the way. :o

Awww sorry you are feeling bad. I know you will bounce back though as you always sound such a force to be reckoned with. The drain of not knowing about your OH'S job will drain the energy a bit but you will find out soon, make a plan of attack and deal with it. Night.

Thanks crazy cat lady, much needed group hug :)

Hey Bob, thanks chicken, much needed encouragement. Have managed to fight tooth and nail for a Drs appt today. So hopefully when I'm not In so much pain I can come back with a plan of attack. Have sent boss out to get some ibuprofen! If I feel up to it tonight, I'll go through my ebay stuff snd maybe list some things. Or maybe look for another job, working for an alcoholic is starting to take its toll too! Oh dear, sorry not sounding too positive. Will skip over and read some fly lady thread or something equally as uplifting and perk myself up a bit. Coffee will help!

    Hello!!

I completely forgot about this thread!!!! I started this thread last year as OH was v likely to be made redundant! OH managed to not be made redundant and hung on to his job by the skin of his teeth. But it has come around again!!! The co. Is losing as many staff again, so with less people in the company, his chance of being made redundancy is much higher, 'sigh'. So back to belt tightening, sleepless nights and budgeting! We should find out in about a month I guess. Roo has just started school so gets free school lunches for the next 2 years, which helps! Going to read back through this thread to see what advice I had last time!!!

Steps I have taken so far:
Changed jobs and requested another day's work which has been agreed
Picked all the blackberries i can find to save on buying frozen ones for breakfasts
Gone vegan, just me, the rest of the family are pretty much veggie though
Actually going to Tesco as opposed to shopping on line, got loads of reduced bananas today! Which I freeze and put on porridge and in smoothies.
I have researched super cheap sacks of potatoes.
Managed to get food budget down to £136 a month after messing with mysupermarket for hours. Just need to implement it.
Any thoughts or ideas would be most appreciated!!!
