Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
It is nice going back to basics for a bit. Maybe you could consider some kind of VW tour with the kids and OH before they get old enough for school.

Sure post away the recipes :)

  • So sorry to hear there's still no decision on your OH's job, that must be infuriating!

Love the meal plan though! That's exactly what I need to start doing for myself. Also a little jealous of those garden raspberries. We used to have tons in the house I grew up in and now that I'm in the city I miss being able to pop outside when they were in season and grab a few. Yum!

Hey Bob that's exactly what were going to do, have a couple of weeks camping in September. Really could spend a lot of time living like that.

Hey Belle, yes we are lucky, we have tons of blackberries that need picking too, no plums though, and I do so love plum jam :( we have apples and pears nearly ready, so that should save some money in the coming weeks, have tomatoes coming and so many potatoes to dig up!
Right at work today :( must think about lunch!

Ahhh was late for work, had reset the kitchen clock as we had a power cut, and guessed the time, was ten minutes out!
So menu plan for today has changed somewhat!

    Breakfast
Littlies - malt wheats, milk and fruit
Me - unsure! Coffee, some nuts and grapes I grabbed whilst running out of the door. Might make some porridge in a while.
    Lunch
Littlies and MIL - cheese salad sandwiches, strawberries and grapes
Me: egg salad with rice ive left at home! Will try and go home and get it in a bit.

    Dinner
Littlies - sausage and Tom pasta
    Me - dhAl

I don't mind changes as long as it doesn't mean more expense!

I've managed to nip home and get my lunch, phew!

Well as you all know, I like a challenge! Have realised we have 3 birthdays to buy for! Shopping CC is already at £512!! I don't want this to go over £600! Soooo, I have found presents amounting to £40, £20 less than normal. Which leaves me with £48 until statement date, but we'll say until the end of the month as IM not sure when it is. Which leaves me with £10
    Per week!!!
Ok have looked again at my shopping list. Have got rid of things we don't need and I have already got in the cupboards. List now reads
    Milk x2 £2.00
    apples x 2 bags £1.80
    Cucumber 50p
    satsumas £1.25 tiny ones
    Bananas £1.02 x 10 tiny ones
    Value mixed frozen veg £1
£7.57 - if I can bring this in at around £7.50 I'll be happy.
I'm going to try and make yoghurt with some UHT milk I have that goes out of date tomorrow. I've decided not to get pears as we have some growing on the tree and they're almost ready and store bought always take a week to soften anyway. Carrots, we do have some decent ones in the fridge and we do have some frozen broccoli. I'm already working on next weeks list! I do get a kick out of doing this, I have to say. It'll make a change to go into Mr (robbing) T£sco and pick my own stuff, I'm hoping the fruit will come out cheaper as I'll choose the smallest ones. I know were not on the bread line quite yet! But it's good to try and save what money we have got, and its Silly not To use up the million things in the cupboards
Oh I'm going to make bread and biscuits too.

Had the nicest lunch just made out of curried value rice and the left over salad bits, put an egg in it, but texture was wrong so won't do it again, although have hard boiled 4. They'll do for snacks I think or sandwich fillers.
Have just procured a tin of soup from work, for chicken pie for next week. Boss said I could have soup whenever, so not in trouble for it.
    Right, work!

Well boss appeared at 4.30 just as I was leaving! I made it to tesco and spent £6.10 for the week, for that I got
    2 x 4pt whole milk
    6 apples
    10 bananas
    8 satsumas
    Cucumber
And 3 bags of mixed veg, reduced to 33p and BOGOF, so 1.5kg for 66p!!! Very pleased! That will do us until next week hopefully.
I've just made some jelly with fruit in for littlies desserts. Just had sausage pasta, although was minus veg! Am so strung out and tired from work and rushing about, I didn't get home until 5, so did what was quickest.

Am going to have the same rice dish I had for lunch through out the week.
Am really worrying about money etc and my huge CC, I'm going to have a look at trying to pay off another £100 this month. I've got £46 in my bank, I have a cheque for £42 and I've got £20 in my purse. So that should do it, And leave me with £8! I just need to not spend Any more money?!

Knowing this is going to be a hard one I've been thinking But what I'm going to do for the next 18 days! I'm meeting my friend for breakfast at morrisons sat morning, already pre arranged, and I need to go to boots, as going to get OH's shower gel with boots points. And it's free parking and there's a free kids activity in the city. Anyway a bacon roll is about £3.50 I think and I'll get the littlies something small and won't have a drink, so £5ish. and I need to take some money out of OH's bank as it was his brothers birthday and i owe his mum some money for the card. So will take out a tenner so will have £8 free from that. So that will pay for the £5 breakfast on sat. I also need some hair dye, B&M do some really cheap I think, less than £2, so will spend some money on that. Which leaves me with £1 and £8 from my left over money. So £9, I'll call it £10 as have a £1 in the car. Soooo that leaves me with £10 for 2 weeks! Think I may ebay some things! Have some bits to take back to primark, but will only get a credit note, so might look at some bits for me and May for Autumn as Roo is sorted.

This is such hard work, I can't really think of anything else!

Ah didn't sleep well and fee like a bear with a sore head this morning. Think I ate too many carbs yesterday. Need to have a better think as to what is in my diet, might have to fry up some spinach and have a smoothie for breakfast if my ingredients will stretch. Hate feeling rubbish.

    Hi there missymoo 81

I just read your diary and wanted to say well done for getting a handle on things; it's not easy and you're doing really well. Also, remember that it is not possible to sort everything out at once; see what works for you and what doesn't, don't leave yourself short, pay what you can off the debt and budget like mad with the rest.

Now I'll away and try to take my own advice. :D

Best of luck and I'll see you around.
