The thing I struggle with, littlies eat at least 5-6 pieces of fruit a day, which i know is high sugar etc etc, but they don't really eat sweets or chocolate. But obviously fruit is expensive. We've got pear and apple trees, and raspberries growing as well as potatoes, but they're not ready yet, so it's quite expensive to buy everything. I try to buy Value where I can, and I've started to save May's half eaten fruit and make a smoothie out of them, as I hate waste, but love smoothies :)

Fantastic advice struggling youth. I do often find if I leave my shopping for an hour or so, I don't actually need half of it!
  • Sorry to hear about the potential redundancy - fingers and toes crossed for the best outcome. Haven't really got any advice to add, but am following and rooting for you.

    Thanks mumstheword x

Ok today I am at work, have kept the house reasonably clean before I left. Made everyone wraps for lunch, I'll eat my lunch at work, so no cost there. I've set the DW to come on when the solar panels are working. Need to transfer over to my new 0% CC today. Tried descaling the Wm again but to no avail! Think I might do some washing at work if I'm allowed. Feeling a right fatty this morning, will do some exercise tonight. Might even sort my bike out, so I can pushbike to work tomorrow.

Hello, so sorry to be MIA, had to reset my phone and couldn't log in!!!!!!

So what's been going on: Roo's chicken pox has gone, but May has woken up with them this morning!!! So no nursery today.

Did really well for a couple of days on the diet and exercise front but has gone to pot the last few days. Back on it tomorrow, have eaten far too many biscuits to start it today!

    on the money front
    good:
have transferred to my new 0% card, who knew it would be that easy?!
Have been good and not spent very much on the shopping CC, apart from a pair of leather clarkes school shoes for Roo for only £18. And dinner out the other day which was only £10.
    I actually ebayed things.
I got a tax rebate of £42! - need to pay cheque in, actually need to find it first!
Have downloaded all of the phone apps to keep track of my spending :T
May's doing really well on potty training, saving loads on nappies :money:
Looked into OU and am not sure but I think I only have one course to do instead of 2, well I think so anyway. have sent them an email to check, which saves me another £900!!!

    Bad:
Spent a small fortune on friday, equating to about £100, on summer clothes(needed), a birthday present and tat in monsoon (not needed!) but I have bought 5 christmas presents for the littlies already ;) which i have never done before at this time of year :T
Have realised that over the last 6 weeks have borrowed £100 of OH's birthday money and need to replace it in ten days time!
Accidentally spent £40 on old CC!!!:o after cancelling DD so need to pay that before i get fined.
I only sold one ebay thing :(
have spent quite a lot on fuel as Have been driving backwards and forwards to see family, but its been nice.

Has left me with a total of £36 in my account  until end of july, or so I thought! Because I have transferred my CC, they don't take the payment out until next month, phew, not good on the paying off my CC, but good on the not adding any more to my current debt, as I would have had to use the CC. As have lots of things planned when OH comes back. Going to cut old CC up when have paid the additional £40, I don't want to be tempted with its £4k credit limit!

Oooh have realised I have loads of fruit to pick in the gardens, jam making a plenty :) which should save us some money on fruit at least.

    List for today:
    Pay old CC
    Make healthy lunch
look at cheap ways to make the dining room more inviting.
    washing x2
    Water plants
    pick fruit
    change car seat
    DW
    Replace table cloth
    sort clothes upstairs
sort out what doing this week
work out payments for new CC - (this is a tricky one as still need to be able to live, and having £100 a month to buy clothes and outings for children etc just isn't enough, so am spending on CC which isn't conducive to getting rid of the debt!)
    hoover
    steam clean floor
    make house smell nice again!!!!
    Go through toys and sling!!!!

Thanks for your support everyone, still don't know about OH's job, and don't have a plan B, he is less worried than before as he's super busy, hence the 6 week trip he's doing, fingers crossed. But definitely not counting chickens yet!!
