Missy's looming redundancy, fighting the Tesco monster, the chub and toddler tantrums

Morning,
God it's nice not to be rushing around, going to work etc, although my friend is coming around later. So will need to have a bit of a clean up. Been so lazy, did nothing last night apart from make dinner. My back is playing up and I'm so tired. Really need to snap out of the tiredness loop. Think I have a hefty dose of PMT too, was almost in tears at postman Pat this morning!!!! Crazy!
Going to have to spend a bit more on my food budget I think. Although I've not been eating much, I appear to be putting on weight!!!! I don't usually eat lots of potatoes and carbs. And it's obviously having an effect! I think if I just have carbs in dinner or lunch I should be ok. So I need to get some spinach to make some salad, and maybe some tomatoes. Still within £10 per week budget though. May need to get some apples again as not sure the tree apples are ready, and MIL let the children have 2 each yesterday?! Grrrrr.0 -
arrgggh just got some in date chicken out of my fridge to freeze, only to find it's off!!! So annoying when I'm trying to economise!!! Have just emailed T3sco to see if they'll do anything about it!!! theres always something to try and catch me out!!!!!0

Ok, going to try something new, risotto in the slow cooker! Wish me luck! Going to sling some bread in the breadmaker too

ok risotto turned out ok actually, hoping the littlies will eat it. Having a bit of a difficult day food wise, am just super hungry so keep eating things. although I'm being very mindful as to what I can afford to gobble up and what I can't.
Mr T3sco was very good about my off chicken, and are sending me a £10 voucher for my £5.50 chicken, was dealt with very well by a very polite person! So I have made a purchase... I had to get my nephew a present for his birthday and the thing was going to have £5 postage on it!!!! I looked elsewhere but nowhere else had it cheaper. So I've bought a solar light for £14, which made the postage free. I have to leave a light on all night for Roo, and as I had to buy something, I thought this was a good idea. I've worked out it costs about 14p per night to leave a light on. It will have paid for itself in 100 days, and we can use it camping instead of keeping on recharging batteries too! So budget looks a bit like this.
Out of £87 left on grocery CC
-£6.10 on shopping
-£27 on birthday present and lamp
-£30 on other birthday presents
which leaves £23.90 for food!!!!! + the £10 from T3sco so thats £33.90 for 18 days. We don't need anything until Saturday where I'll pick up some more bananas and some apples, then maybe get some bits again on wednesday after work. I'm really hoping I can do it, more because we need to start budgeting and we may be on the bread line before too long.
On other notes, really concerning myself about my lack of exercise and bad diet. Really need to do a bit more. Back is bad today, but really need to get back on it asap, just because it makes me feel so much better!0 -
Sorry to anyone reading this, I do feel like I run on a load of rubbish!0

Try and be kind to yourself... I know it's impossible with very little ones, but you do need to make sure you get a bit of time to yourself. Us mums put ourselves at the bottom of the pile every time, and that's not really fair. It's not the end of the world that your diet and exercise isn't exactly where you want it - don't give yourself too much hassle.
Well done on Tesco by the way
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Hi missy.
I came here as another of your posts caught my attention. What are you doing with your Tesco points, would it be any help to use them for birthdays presents?
Fingers crossed for you that your DH doesn't lose his job.0 -
Hi Missy, definitely cut yourself a little slack. We all have the odd blaaah time with diet and exercise. I'm amazed you do all you do with littles and moneysaving to contend with. I've been cat-sitting for a week and already slipped up on the exercise cause I have "so much to do"

Excellent news about the T-sco voucher too!0 -
Hey spend less and belle, was feeling really bleugh the last few days. Concentrating too hard on spending nothing and then feeling awful when I spent some moneu on the littlies much needed pants!!! Had a severe word with myself, have ordered some better food, over budget but much needed fruit and veg, I can't eat lots of carbs and feel ok. I've eaten a lot of fruit and veg and eggs etc today and feel so much better already, feel like my mojo is back, am sitting in the sunshine, will clear up the house tonight.0

Well I'm doing well on the healthy eating front, and I'm actually going to do some exercise tonight! Do need to feel better about myself! Have had a NSD which is always good.0
