It is quite common for checkout operators and supervisors to refuse to accept coupons, this is NOT a policy thing these are individuals who merely resent their use, either because it means they actually have to think during a transaction (check dates, mark coupons as used as per policy) or just that until you actually presented them they thought the transaction was over and now they have this ENORMOUS task on their hands to actually hand scan them, others are just envious that you have coupons and they can't seem to get their hands on them, one checkout operator actually told me once she was disgusted that I could get products cheaper than her and she worked there!!

Stand your ground with these people because as others in this thread have found out, these are the very people who will call a supervisor/manager etc to deny you your discount and then be told in no uncertain terms they cannot, you also have the added pleasure of rubbing their pompous noses in it each time you shop with coupons, the most important aspect of standing your ground is in the future when you are actually on dodgy ground these people are in no way going to give you the same opportunity of proving them wrong or exposing themselves to becoming noticed by head office again as being unhelpful and will cave in to avoid such a situation.

Don't hate em screw them for all you can!

I have used over £480 of coupons in the last six weeks alone by the way, just to emphasise the rewards of having a little front and not fearing the attention and perhaps a little embarassment occasionally.

I went to Tescos in Elmers End near croydon this morning armed with my 2 vouchers for a £1 off each pack. But guess what, they had no stock on show and said there was no such offer!!!!!
Then Customer Services said i could have12 rolls of Andrex loo rolls for £3.46!!!! so i told them where to go in nice language. Then they said that they would not take the vouchers and not give me a raincheck voucher, (so i could get the loorolls when in stock) anyway!!!! In other words,UP YOURS.
So I am rather annoyed and now going to complain via there website.

If I was you I would phone the store now and demand to speak to the manager, insist on your raincheck voucher, when he caves in (which he certainly will) then and only then break the news to him that you intended to purchase 20, 50 or whatever amount of units you wish or your budget can handle just in case they decide to put an amount on the raincheck you not suitable to you.

Called to my local Tesco's this morning to try and get another two packs as the offer ended today. Only 6 packs left, grabbed 2 packs went to the checkout and the vouchers were refused "these are photocopies, i cannot accept photocopies" i told her they are not photocopies they are printed internet coupons. Paid full price, then went to customer services, they agreed they were printed and gave me the £2.00 back.

Keep printing the vouchers as they are valid until the end of December and Tesco often have these on a BOGOF.

    Will keep you posted.

Shouldn't they have given you the £2 back ..................... And the loo rolls free, for making a mistake??????
I thought that was their own policy, full refund plus the item free?????

My local Tescos advised me that there was no such offer to be had. They told me I'd got mixed up and it was probably an Internet offer! To which I explained that plenty of other people had got it in other stores. I don't think that staff would be pleased if their bonuses were dealt with according to store!

We don't have the BOGOF's or the toilet rolls at our's so no luck on that score :(
    BUT............................
I went to Tesco armed with my magazine coupons AND a letter from the head office stating they accept them. The grumpy woman there wouldn't accept them. She said "You haven't bought any of these products, so I won't take the coupons". I asked for a supervisor, when she arrived I said "I have an email from your head office.............."
"Oh just take 'em, we're supposed to if someone pushes it!"
So miss grumpy took them while mumbling at me "If it were up to me I wouldn't allow it! I think you've got a cheek!"
    Well that's me told :)
I said to her "Now you know that the store takes them, I'll make sure I come to you next time".
    She wasn't happy...........................

I also braved it out this week. Last week wehn i went through the till the girl saw me and recognised me so she called the supervisor and they started whispering together, guess what about. All for nothing becuse my coupons were all in date and only one of each. So this week I aimed for the same girl and said as I went through that all my coupons were in date and only one of each. She said she was only allowed to take 10% of the bill (why do they always have to have the last word!) so she gave me back the £3 one and took the rest, nearly £4 worth off a £20 bill LOL
