soured cream ideas please

I did have a quick look to see if I could find any answers but I couldn't.
Basically my query is that I buy sour cream for when I do wraps for dinner. Where I shop they don't do the sour cream in a tiny pot so we end up having loads left over which inevitably gets thrown out. Are there any other recipes I could use the sour cream with that would use it up and I wouldn't end up throwing out loads of sour cream everytime we eat wraps which is probably once every three weeks.Did owe £9,951.96

Not quite the answer you're looking for, but when I don't have sour cream in I use double cream with lemon juice added as a substitute, if you did this you could freeze the leftover double cream that hadn't had the lemon juice added.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000

I feel your pain OP, we have roast vege wraps virtually every week (gf is obsessed with them...) and have a little garlic and onion dip on them.... problem is Tesco / Asda don't sell small tubs so we have to get a bigger one... use half and then I can guarantee that the other half gets wasted... I go mad every week when I go back to the fridge and throw one out... then we go shopping on a Friday and have to buy another one for next week, repeat again and again!!!
Would love to know what else I can use it for....0 -

I have the same issue and tend to use mine as an extra topping on my chili con carne, then add some sprinkled grated cheese - or, it tastes lovely if you add a dollop (great word) to some HM soup.
You could also use it in a jacket potato, add some chopped spring onions for a fresh topping. You could use it instead of mayo with some tuna and potato. I've also added some to beaten egg when making a fritatta.
Hope that helpsOctober shopping challenge - £3000 -

Hi
I buy it towards the end of the week, and have half in wraps on the friday [say], then again in wraps on the monday - so it doesn't go off and it feels like we had them in 2 different weeks.
I find we need to do that or the wraps don't last either.0 -
Hi lynseydee,
There's an older thread with some more ideas so I've added your thread to it to keep the replies together.

I freeze it in 2 tablespoon quantities then use it to make coleslaw using this recipe which is delicious and very cheap to make:
300g white cabbage sliced thinly
2 carrots peeled and grated
2 spring onions or 1/4 red onion
2 tbsp mayo
2 tbsp soured cream
1 tsp mustard
2 tbsp vinegar
1 tsp sugar
salt and pepper
Mix the cream, mayo, vinegar, mustard and sugar in a small bowl and pour over the cabbage, carrot and onion. Season to taste and refrigerate for an hour or so to allow the flavours to infuse.
This keeps for a few days in a lock and lock box, I have also made it using kohlrabi instead of cabbage and it was delicious. You might need a bit more mayo as the videojug clip says 2 tbsp but it looks like alot more when they add it http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-make-coleslaw
I use grain mustard and rice wine vinegar but any will do0
