Hi IWBF,
I must say I really understand the post your wrote last night - I go through the same thing and am currently in the manic manic manic phase and have probably committed to too much this month, so am planning a very quiet October to try and balance it out. I agree, R&R is so important and we all need some things to look forward to! Glad to see that things are improving and you've had some good times recently.0 -
See? There are loads of us who all know exactly how you're feeling. I left the house at 7.30 this morning and got in at 7.30 this evening. Work, then family stuff. Thank goodness I only had to reheat dinner rather than start from scratch.
And you are doing well. I'm sure you could find at least a dozen positive things in every single dayNot giving up

Despite my best efforts, last week finished disastrously. My fixed period for my mortgage is coming to an end and I met with a broker to find me a new deal. I was very honest about my financial position and took my credit reports with me. Two main issues: a default that was logged in March 2010 and, obviously, my debt - although I have no missed/late payments at all, just that blooming default.
After looking into things, he advised me that he cannot find me a deal in principleHe said it could be the default, but most likely, it's the amount of debt, I seem high risk to lenders, especially as my credit report doesn't show the up to date figures (such as a clear balance on one of my four credit cards and a clear overdraft).
He suggeste dI keep an eye on my credit reports and when those balances show right, to contact him again. In the mean time, my mortgage payment will increase by £200 from October :eek::eek:
Spent Friday, which was a booked day off, crying and admonishing myself for my stupidity. Following a quiet weekend, and a payday, I am back on track, I think. Paid off £1,380 the debt today so it will be rice and beans, beans and rice until the next payday :rotfl:
Off to update my signature.....On 23.6.15 I panicked when I realised I owed £37,311.62
I will be debt free [STRIKE]by July 2018[/STRIKE] as soon as I can. Current debt £26,473.73

Oh, I am sorry to hear that about your mortgage.
What a pain in the backside - £200 is a lot to find. I've been on SVR for a few years now but, touch wood, the payments haven't become unmanageable. This is just a minor setback though - you'll get that deal in the next few months.

Hey crazy cat lady
It really will be a challenge to find the extra, especially as I have lost the garage rent for the time being. If I can find another person to rent it, that will help so fingers crossed!

Well just go with it for the moment. Look how far you've come in just a few months - it will sort itself out.Not giving up

You are right crazy cat lady. I have to think it will sort itself out, as other things have.
Day off today and working on an application for a job. A bit of a long shot but, it looks so very interesting, it pays well and the travelling would be reasonable so I have to give it a go!
Planning the next few bits to help me along my debt free journey.- The garage needs a good clear out so deciding on whether I need a skip. I am also doing a flyer to post around the doors in my area, in case anyone wants to rent it now that the guy that rented it took his stuff.
- I have a few bits to try to sell on Gumtree/Facebook first, and if that doesn't work, then eBay it.
- Shopping around for car insurance and new elec/gas supplier as they are both due in October. Here's hoping I can get a little saving out of them.

A little win to report
Applied to change my electricity and gas supplier via the MSE Cheap Energy Club and, if approved, I will be £10 better off each month. I will also get £30 cash back after three months which can go towards the debt.
It's too early to get the car insurance sorted but a few comparison sites shows I may get it for £70 less than last year - fingers crossed! On 23.6.15 I panicked when I realised I owed £37,311.62
