Just an update. JL did a U-Turn and provided a full refund to my parents. They also said that they had read this forum too which they found 'interesting' They did not apologise though or admit fault but said they would be continuing in their investigation. I would like to think that the critical mass of you guys debating the issue and bringing this incident into the public domain got them worried about bad PR.
They have not shared anything with us after the refund, so we still dont know where the fake iPad came from.
Thanks everyone for you insightful and helpful thinking around the issue.0 -
Glad JL eventually refunded your parents OP!0

How quickly was the refund made? Surely your parents haven't been waiting until now for it?0

Sorry it was in July a couple of weeks after the whole fiasco. I came on the forum for another reason and realised I had not updated this thread on the outcome.
Thanks0
