Cricket tea made here to Dusty. Nothing like waking to the smell of sausage rolls at 7am.
Two loads of bedding on the line. Third load of clothing in. Forecast for tomorrow is dire, so trying to get ahead today.
Planning to head into town in a bit - meeting the DDs for lunch. It's rare that DD1 has a Saturday off and next Saturday she goes away for a week so looking forward to this.
Just watching a repeat of the 2001 Wimbledon final. Still makes me cry...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Just had a wonderful half hour, with the cat on the patio watching the bees on the flowers, in the sun shine, but it is now clouding over.

Missymoo do you live in a hard water area? We do, and have to run descaler through regularly.
CY yes waiting must be horrible. Find lots of nice things to do, and we're all here for you.
Semi-social day today, as BIL arrived last night and will take MIL back to stay with him for a couple of weeks tomorrow (she lives 3 miles from us in Herts and he lives on the south coast).
At the moment, Mr N and his brother are putting up the fruit cage which is helpful as BIL is taller than me!
I've pruned some of the fruit bushes as some whitefly were making the top leaves all curly, and some of the branches were sticking out further than they needed to get the fruit cage on anyway.
Orange and coconut cake in oven.
Whitecurrant and peach fool being made as I type. Can't believe there is still so much fruit in the freezer even though we seem to eat loads, and this year's will be ripe soon.
Got key-finding instructions for the cottage we're renting in Scotland next weekend.
Also got reply about a boat trip we were interested in, works out nicely the day after we arrive. We'll welcome an afternoon off after 3 days on the motorbike to get there.
Going to collect MIL for lunch shortly. Presume she'll be with us till dinner this eve, so off now to pick mange-tout for a veggie risotto (BIL is veggie).Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Thanks guys, yes live in a hard water area, and machine is about 6/7 years old. Prob is scale, how do I descale it? It's the heating symbol that's on all the time, I'm rubbish with these things! I cleaned all the drawer etc as pigpen said but it's not done anything. Sigh, just when i wanted to get all my washing done!0
-
Right have googled it. Going to put some lemon juice through it and see how it goes.0

I have never run a descaler through my machines and our water is practically solid!
Ebeast stuff posted.. 4 more items sold, only 1 paid so it can wait until Monday when I take Tiddles to pick up her new specs. Squeaks appointment made for Thursday after school. Boog's prescription collected and his hair minced... looking quite pretty for tonights Prom.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Missymoo bung a load of vinegar through, carefully pour it into the drawer where you would put liquid detergent (don't use that as it's rubbish for machines), use an entire bottle, run on a regular 40 wash cycle with limited amount of watr (ie no extra). Afterwards check the filter to see if any chunks of scale have been dislodged.
Cricket teas set up and came back home, DS2 was sent to play away, he was not happy after organising the teas, players can clear it up themselves this week as their game is done and dusted as they got absolutely tonked.
Gardening for me now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Mostly outdoors today - garden looking very presentable although I would like some more bedding plants- a nice job for Tuesday. I've removed the old paddling pool which was being used as a raised bed until we had the slide put in (disguised, lol wasn't just a random paddling pool with muck in
) and I need some more chipped bark to go under the slide. Other than that, we are party ready. I only hope next Saturday is like today
we would need the gazebo for shade, but it would make a glorious party:)
I've had washing out on the line too, and tried to stay in control of the kitchen.
Tonight once the littlies are in bed, I'm going to tackle the garage.
Right, I'm taking my :coffee: outside!Bossymoo

Nice haircut for young Pigpen, hope he has a good time.
We are going to a big birthday party tonight. I know from past experience that we will need to keep a close eye on the teenagers and alcohol, particularly DS1 who will want to try and do what everyone else is doing. I am driving so I can see me being a bit on edge all night. DS2 is only 14 and not really interested in alcohol yet but I know there will be others there his age who will be drinking. Going to stop at the supermarket on the way there and stock up on cans of pop!
Oh for the days when they just wanted to run about and play tig at this sort of do ...0 -
pigpen nice photo and haircut. hope he enjoys the prom. it was ds1's prom on Friday but he didn't want to go
I was a bit sad about this but he doesn't do well in social situations so I think he will probably have hated every minute of it.
YS hope you enjoy the party. We haven't got to the alcohol drinking stage yet (14 and 16) - ds1 will only drink water so I think that is a long way off...ds2 will be a different story!
not done alot today...I have been shattered not sure why. OH and I did clear out the fridge today, emptied and cleaned it and threw alot of nearly empty jars away. We put it back in some sort of order so as long as OH puts things back where they came from it should stay tidy.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
