  • It's so good to hear you're having such a great time of it, Crunchy! I seriously envy your very organised 2015 list of things to buy. I think secretly I'm afraid mine would have very little that I NEED to buy on it... and then how would I excuse the spending money in my budget... whoops!

Must look into the 1% challenge. That sounds addictive!

    Morning dfw's

Belle - I have found that writing it all down definitely sorts the needs from the wants!

Barnsley lass - how are you dealing with your pnd? Finding it easier to recognise when I am having negative thoughts and turning them around. I've only had one day of that this last week.

So yesterday was a nsd. I had a little play around with a snowball calculator and also looked at hotels for our night away in November so I can start costing that out and saving.

Husband still hasn't done expenses. I'm hoping tonight is the night.!! I also need to show him our budget for next month.

I need to buy some meat for sandwiches for the week today and I have a friend coming round for a cuppa this morning so a lsd today.

    2 days to go!!!

Barnsley lass - definitely agree that debt busting helps!! And take things day by day!

Cuppa with friend turned into pub lunch so I shall use some of husbands money left over to pay that off my credit card this morning.

Realised yesterday that there are a few little things we need next month which I haven't factored into the budget so will need to do some tweaking of the figures before tomo.

Husband still hasn't done his expenses........

Other than that it will be a nsd here today. Will do some crafty bits with Ds whilst the baby naps.

Looking forward to pay day tomorrow!!!!!!!

Can finally pay for the shed! Woohoo!

    Evening people!!

The hubs and I went through the budget and agreed to park our ISA savings for this year (£150 a month) in order to get rid of this debt quicker. We actually have about £1500 in savings anyhow as we save £20 each for the children every month for long term so if the SHTF then we have some money put aside.

I have also added to my signature a minimum target of £460 a month in order to achieve the dream of paying off the £5500 in a year.

So with these adjustments, tomorrow I should be able to pay off.......

£371 off the credit card!! What a great start!

I am also pleased to share that while I sit here on my sofa typing this, hubs is doing his expenses........

I am hoping the amount left on his credit card will be much less than my £1000 estimation so therefore smashing our August target and really starting the ball rolling!!

I'm very excited for the morning now, making the first payment of our new target.

    Happy Tuesday everyone!!

  • Glad you feel a bit better now you have a plan! So difficult to balance the savings against the debt sometimes - I feel constantly wrong for having an emergency fund when I've still got debt!

    Morning everyone!

Got paid about £70 less than I thought I would so £300 off the credit card this morning! Signature updated!

I got locked out of husbands online banking for his credit card last night so couldn't see the balance but he has worked out what he is owed. Hopefully he can ring them tonight for an updated balance and I will be able to reduce down even more!

Planning a library trip today and maybe a park trip.

The ball has most definitely started to roll. I'm going to smash this debt once and for all!
