  • Afternoon all dfw's!!

Husbands payday today - a whopping £1500!!! about £1000 more than I had anticipated. Its definitely pays off being a bit 'glass half empty' sometimes.

We just need £2300 on Monday from husbands new job. If so that money is ours to 'spend.' Husband is itching to get the office finished with a heater, desk and flooring whilst I want to pay the bank of Mum and Dad back. Hopefully we can do both and maybe a little bit more.

    Fingers crossed!

Food shopping this afternoon so just about to work on the menu plan for this week. As for the weekend, just hair cuts tomorrow at £32 and that's it!!

I'm off to do some meal planning and getting my ducks in order.

Woohoo!!! lovely push forward (opposite of a step back) for you!

Definitely always helps to be pessimistic with stuff like this. Presume everything will cost more than it should & presume you'll only ever get less than you deserve and you should mostly come out on top!

Still a whole 5 days until payday for us. boo!

  • I do the same with dh wage I forecast his income based on his part time hours when I know he always picks up a couple of extra shifts, it's just nice to have a number forecast and then be over it.

  • Ah no!! I heard about it on the radio when I was on my way to work! Gutted.

Nevermind - I have exciting money news!

I HAVE FINALLY PAID OFF THE BANK OF MUM AND DAD!!!!

(if my smilies worked there would be lots here!!)

I have also managed to get the overdraft down to £1400 from £1700 and my credit card down to £1625.

Our total debt is now £19,393 so finally past the £20k mark again!!

I have £500 in one of our savings accounts for office stuff and £100 buffer in there as well.

Spending for the month budgeted for. As is petrol. Husband is away for 2 weeks this month so we are hoping for a relatively frugal month. Just one day out planned and with the hubs away it will mean our food budget can go down a little.

So so so so so pleased with us. We are doing so well!!

  • It certainly is abba!!!

After the highs of Monday I am now feeling a bit low. There is so much we need in our house. The sheets are getting threadbare, I need new clothes r, I really want to decorate etc etc. we moved about 8 months ago and it still looks like we have just moved in. Apart from the office we have done nothing to put our stamp on it.

I think I have got to find a way to pay back this debt and live at the same time. I just feel so desperate to get rid of it now. That overdraft is driving me crazy!!! It needs to be gone because we will need to buy a new car next year which we obviuoy have no saving s for so I shall have to take out a loan. Which is fine because we can afford the monthly payments but only if we have paid back this debt.

I feel great that we have made inroads this month so I guess I should stop beating myself up and think about how far we have come.

It will be paid off in no time. Just got to stick with it!!

    Slowly slowly catchy monkey
