Currys misselling - laptop
Comments
-
It seems like you'd rushed into purchasing the laptop and the set-up service from them..
I hope you've learned the lesson though - this should make you think more about future purchases and result in you saving more and asking more questions in the future.
Don't trust sales staff - they get paid commission for service charges, not for selling the products. If you want their help, always ask about their extended warranty - they will treat you well... Until you tell them you changed your mind about the warranty, where they give up.
I had the same problem with Currys when I bought my laptop. (my situation was I had a burglary the night before and needed a laptop/pc ASAP). I was in a rush to buy it, went to Currys and found a laptop I liked. The sales assistant lied to me and said "the only laptops left are the ones which have been pre-setup and we can only sell this laptop with the additional service". After refusing to take the laptop and asking to speak to the manager, he changed his mind and went on to get the laptop from stock.
Since then, I only go into Currys to browse items - then go home buy online after researching similar spec items."Real knowledge is knowing the extent of one's ignorance."0
