Dear Ms Ford,

thank you for returning my call regarding the signage at Fistral Beach Car Park.

You may recall that my enquiry was regarding whether signage at the site required planning permission, and if so, whether the signage met the necessary statutory requirements. Further to my initial enquiry, I note that there are also several "ANPR" cameras located on tall masts throughout the site.

This is in connection with a civil court case involving a parking event at the site.

The sign marked "x" does not exist.

I have attached various photographs of the signs for your attention. I have further photographic evidence of the signs and camera equipment should you require further details.

Dear Mr Gilbert,

I am currently defending a case for parking charges, brought by the Car Park Management Company, "Parking Eye," following an alleged parking event at Fistral Beach in May 2013.

My defence is multi-facted, and includes issues of signage at the site.

Preliminary perusal of the Town and Country Planning legislation suggests that planning consent is required, particularly in relation to the remote elevated "ANPR" cameras at the site entrance.

I have sent photographic details and made enquiries with Newquay Planning Office, as to whether consent is required, and whether consent was granted, but unfortunately they do not appear to respond to my e-mails or calls.

I wonder if you could kindly look into the matter for me ?

Just had a fine from SmartParking much to my surprise, i am a lifeguard at fistral and always been careful to not go over the 20mins free time, i actually went into the lifeguard hut to collect some equiptment, also recently spoke to Anns Cottage since i know the times change for free parking depending on the time of year, the employee said it was 20mins free, and that sign is so unlcear i didn't spot the new time limit of 10mins. Pretty disgusting will be taking this on and not paying it !

Watched you guys in action at Watergate Bay last Thursday, awesome rescue of the well nourished guy in the rip. Makes me sick to the stomach to hear stories such as yours.
