Now correct me if I'm wrong, the signage says this is a private car park, the 'contract' says you must display a BB to park in a disabled space, yet the council own the car park? If it's private you do not need to display a BB, if it's council owned you do need to display a BB, if anyone from smart parking is reading this can they please help me out as TBH I'm at a loss as to what is actually FACT!Ivor_Pecheque wrote: »the signeage is a little.....erm confusing....

Well I know windscreens are laminated but requiring a
"valid Disabled Blue Badge on display within the windscreen"
is taking things a bit far

Just sent off the template dispute so will see what happens. I will likely just pay and move on if its denied. I wish I had the time to persue but will cost me far more doing that than just being done with that unfortunately. Which sucks. Because I hate the rediculousness of it.
My second ever Parking 'fine' this. First one was 6 months ago while giving blood.0 -

Don't pay it. Smart are easy to beat and never "do court". By paying them you are contributing to this scam. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
you'll get loads of help on here, probably worth half a day to get the templates off, and gain some understanding ?
Don't let 'em get away with it. What's the worse case scenario if you don't pay now ?Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -
Well it will mean i have to pay £100 not £60. And all this court bs. I have sent template off (hope I sent thr right stuff) so hopefully should hear back soon see what happens. I read the sticky stuff but utterly confused so will see ha0

MSE and Pepipoo are very well meaning forums that have probably, between them, helped more motorists than I can ever imagine.
They (we) are enthusiasts, and I'm as guilty as anyone, about becoming a little.......evsngalical, about things. Sometimes this is at the expense of a slick front end "service."
This is not a criticism, but perhaps we need to look at the front end. POPLA NtK PE IPC Fine Charge PCN PCN .... it can all get a bit confusing, and for the sake of sixty quid, I can see your point about it being easier to just pay up.
However, ordinary folk are suffering as a result of the practices that you have fell foul to. We all have our own motivations, I personally find helping the fight for the vulnerable good for the soul.
We all have our own qualities, I personally am a political animal who misses no opportunity to let anyone who wants to listen, about the experience our family suffered as a result of these people.
Others share my passion, but have different skills, (such as dissecting the law, having the ability to read between the lines in the signeage etc etc.)
One thing we all have in common, is that we care. :-)Illegitimi non carborundum:)0 -
