Well I've had a very relaxing night, apart from cutting OH's hair I've spent the entire night playing scrabble with a friend over the net :rotfl: He wiped the floor with me so I think it's time I started reading something other than housework books :o Off to wash dishes, tidy up a bit and I have no idea what else but I might do some ironing as no-one has any ironed tops :o Later

liuhut welcome back, sorry to hear the family have been unwell, sounds like the last thing you need with so much on.

Well done Michelle :D clutter clearing is great isn't it. I'm a horder but when I do clear it helps clear my head somehow aswell.

Nicki, sounds like you've had a great evening.

Pigpen you should have sent the trousers with the overlocker! I would, because I can't sew :o

Well I've done almost nothing, last of dinner/supper dishes even waiting to be done, I've decided going to watch Eastenders rerun as I didn't see it earlier so I have until 10pm to get things 'sortedish' DS2 has knocked over a massive box of stuff tht I'd collected from downstairs for their room. Unfortunately I'm just not in the mood to deal with that, especially now they are asleep so will deal with that tomorrow. Sorry I know bad me leaving it but it's just a NO NOT TONIGHT! Oh and my bum hurts :( injection didn't hurt when it was done, does now!

    Suppose I should make a start :o

[quote=. Also need to sort out the house a bit for the in-law visit on Saturday, although that is in the afternoon so there will be some time to catch up in the morning,

Same here...thats whats prompted me to get the house tidy...last time she came round she offered to take the kids down the shops , which was nice but she then started to clean all the rubbish out of the buggy before she took them...really got my back up but OH shouted at the and told her to leave things alone!!!!! Glad he did & not me!!!

they do get an urge to fiddle don't they and tell us how to do things.

Mine shouldn't be too bad - it is me who puts the pressure upon myself to look like i am taking care of things properly.

I am always the same, even at work - just want people to think i am doing a good job. Why my own say so isn't enough i will never know but i'm hoping i grow out of it and start saying what the hell

Char97michelle Thats the same as me, I put the pressure on my self and get myself into a right state a few days before she even arrives. Her house is soooo bloody spotless but then she lives alone and has no kids, hass next to no social life and admits herself that she gets bored.

I'm a perfectionist too and was even worst when I had PND...I am starting to relax a bit and just thing that things will do.

:T <<not applause but both hands firmly in the air saying yes this evening my house was back to CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) when my sons new transport guy came I didn't even invite him in out of sheer embarrassment! I've had others say 'what are you worried about mine is worse' but I'd feel sick letting someone in as I'm a bit of a perfectionist inside too, when it's not 'just right' I'm not happy!

There you go my confession, it's good for the soul so they tell me, oh and all I did it that half an hour was listen to DP have a rant on the phone and wash up. Well tough Eastenders is on now so anything else will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry I'm being a bad flylady and promise I will try harder next week. It's not as bad as it was this time last year so suppose should be happier.

    Hi everyone,

just spent ages longer than I should reading through all the posts. I have been very busy getting sorted ready for leaving on holiday on Saturday.

The longest time has been spent trying to find some footwear for DD that will not tear her feet to shreds, and that she is prepared to wear... Four hours at local outlet yesterday, found nothing ( but did get new bras!) and another two hours today in town. Found one pair. Came home. DD says she wishes she'd bought the pair from outlet yesterday. Ten minute dinner, leap into car, back over to outlet, 15 minutes before they close, buy shoes she likes, and also manage to grab two pairs of sandals BOGOF from Clark's!!

So, I shall have to clean the bathroom and cloakroom tomorrow instead. As well as all the other things that need doing, although I have decided that the sky will not fall in on me if I leave painting the bit of wall that needed repairing until after I come back from holiday. If any burglar doesn't like it, he can always leave me a note.

I went into school with DS1 to collect his results, and he'd not passed any, which considering the year he has had, was exactly what we all expected. The head was great, and said that no worries, he will be in the Upper Sixth, but doing the AS levels again. This means he will be spending three years in the 6th form, but he is one of the youngest in the year anyway, so won't make much difference. With hindsight, it would probably have been better to have had this year off and recover, but then , I thought it might be best to be with friends, and doing something structured. Tough, this parenting stuff!

poohbear - please don't worry about your son's results. This really isn't the end of the world. Exams can be done again, if that is what he wants to do. I'm sure that the answer will become clearer over the next few days. Were the results a comlete shock, or were they expected? Did your son enjoy the course, or was it a struggle? Maybe a different approach such as a vocational course may be the way to go. Thinking of you!

I don't know if I'll have time to post tomorrow, but I shall be be doing a Femme volante (???) for the next two weeks!
It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be
  • My in-laws house was a bit of a state last week cos there cleaning lady hadn't been for a few weeks. MIL doesn't do much cleaning although gets the urge to do it here to 'help me' and it just makes me cringe and feel inadequate.

I bet we can all say that we are perfectionists. I just don't want Charlie to have a childhood like mine where mum wouldn't let us have anyone over unless the house was spotless, and as we got older that was never!! unless we spent hours cleaning 1st.

Much easier to do it the fly-lady way and not be a domestic slave.

It's strange but DH admitted that it is best for me to boss him into doing jobs like this evening, and as we get more organised, i can actually envisage me keeping it up once i am at work. Will just have to be better at delegating i think. :D

Enjoy eastenders lil-me. I think the telly will be what has to go when i go back to work, but i'll keep my daily home and away fix. How else would Charlie know it was bed time?? (theme music = bedtime)

Evening, not a lot going on here, DS (4) is now complaining of being cold in bed and having a sore ear. And when I say complaining I mean crying at the top of the stairs every 15 minutes since 8.30pm  Hope its not an ear infection, he's never had one and other than calpol I don't know what to do  Hope he isn't going to be up all night ....

Hubby helped me sort out some expenses of his (as well he should!) and changed some lightbulbs for me. He also got home EARLY for tea. This never happens :j

Had a nice afternoon at a friends, there were 6 of us with 10 children  Luckily it was dry enough for them to play outside. DS was quite whiny though but if he is sickening for something then that explains it.

Tomorrow they are going in the creche at gym fro an hour and a half while I sit in the cafe. Going to take some stuff with me and sort photos for my Mum, and write a letter to my Dad. Oh and my Harry Potter book , only have about 50 pages to go, its getting very exciting.

My DS1 used to get earaches quite a lot when he was smaller, I found that kids ibuprophen (nurophen) worked on earache much better than paracetamol (calpol) you can give them inter dosed - read the bottles - good luck.
