JillD - I can't tell you some of the ridiculous things I got upset about when heavily pregnant, or some of the stupid rows I had with DH. Your reasons seem very sensible! Be kind to yourself, and kids need to know parents are human. I grew up in a home where my parents pretended they never rowed or got upset. My brother and I knew full well when there was an atmosphere or upset, just got very confused because it wasn't acknowledged and in some ways it taught us that feeling sad or angry was wrong! Kids are perceptive and will pick up on it anyway. Enough amateur psychology from me,...

Morning all. Feeling a bit better again this morning so I'm dressed, but I am so cold I've got a jumper on :snow_grin Not planning on doing much today though, I'm still going to rest whether I'm dressed or not. DD is having a Harry Potter-thon of films 2-4 inclusive so thats her entertained for the day
But I am on the search for OHs bank card - I remember it being on the desk on Friday and thinking "I need to put that away before it gets lost" and I picked it up but then I can't remember where I put it! :wall: I swear its on the desk somewhere or nearby but I can't remember where!
Off to carefully sort through paper etc  :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Morning all
Hormones are a pain aren't they? I'm not pregnant (well past that!) but I am menopausal and I could cry all day at the moment - about nothing at all. I know it will pass but I'm feeling really sorry for myself at the moment and I have no real problems at all.
Anyway, bedrooms dusted and vacuumed. Stripped and remade my bed. Done two loads of washing. Hung it all upstairs because it was raining. The upstairs line sort of fainted and I had to take it all off......put the heavy stuff outside because it's sunny for now but it will just have to get rained on if necessary. I mended the line and put some stuff back on there.
I vacuumed the stairs which I didn't do yesterday and then through downstairs. Put the feather duster round the living room first. When I got downstairs and wanted to replug the vacuum in I couldn't get the plug out at first. That caused a few tearsNever mind.
Now I'm practising deep breathing and trying to calm myself down.0 -
a lot of us are feeling low or emotional. Me included!
And I've got NO excuse! Not pregnant, not menopausal.. only period but nearly finished already.
Yesterday I took the kids out with the canoe's most of the day. By the time I had the boats in the water I was already shattered! Played with them all afternoon, drinks, sweets, the lot. And as I was (at the end of afternoon) trying to deflate the boats again (feeling very exhausted) DD3 had the nerve to come to me and say: "When are you we going swimming? You promised to take us swimming this holliday remember?"
I could have throttled her!!!! Ungrateful litlle brat! It's not the first time she's done this either. At the end of a long (expensive) day out to an amusement park she went and asked: "Where are we going tomorrow??"
I explained to her then (she's 9) that it didn't make us feel very good, and that it seemed very ungrateful when she does that. Apparrently it didn't sink in.
The house is now an absolute TIP!!
DD1 being back from her dad in the USA, turns her lovely new room into a rubbishbin in minutes! Because I was out with the kids yesterday I didn't clean my living room, and my lovely bright and shiny kitchen is reduced again to a dumping ground for dirty dishes. Didn't do them last night as my line dancing classes started again last night as well. And DH never thought to clean up the kitchen for me...
*I think I'm gonna cry*
I just don't know where to start! it's 12:37 here now and I haven't done a thing!
Well, if you've stuck with me so far, good on you!
Becca
