Can They Cancel My Insurance?

Hi. I have recently insured my motorhome. I paid the inital instalment and recieved my certificate of moter insurance which states the day and time the policy became active and taxed it with the DVLA.
I work in a supermarket and put this in the quote generator but now the company have said the they are going to cancel my policy because aparently I am a sports coach, which they don't cover.
I explained that I am currently not employed as a sports coach and am employed in a supermarket and I would contact them if my circumstances changed. They said that they believe I will go back to coaching and are still going to cancel the policy and charge me for cancelation.
Surely this can't be right?
They also said the policy was never active although money had been taken from my account. However the policy must have been active as the car must be shown as insured on the DVLA database to tax in the first place.
Also, they refused to pass me on to someone higher while I was on the phone

Start the official complaints procedure so you can go to the FSA.I do Contracts, all day every day.0

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but what is the official complaints procedure? Can I search it on this site?
Thanks.0 -
How do they know you are trained as a sports coach?
When was the Insurance due to start and had you received a covernote or certiicate?0 -
You should be able to find it or ask them for it, but make sure you send a copy of any E-mails as letters with a certificate of postage which is free or you will fall down flat.
Once you have forced a stalemate you can go to the FSA.
They are not allowed to make assumptions they can not prove.
However make sure you get everything in writing, telephone conversations are worthless.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

The Ombudsman (FOS), the FSA is the Food Standards Agency, you're thinking of the FCA who regulate Insurers and used to be called the FSA.
Neither the FCA or FSA deal with individual complaints0 -
My brother, who is also on the policy, had called them up earlier and had said I was a part-time sports coach and supermarket emloyee. I haven't coached in months though due to reconstructive surgery on my knee and have no idea when, if ever, I'll be fit to resume.
So I basically say to them I wan't to start the official complaints procedure and ask them to send me letters rather than talk on the phone?
The policy was supposed to be in force already. I have all the conformation emails and the certificate they emailed to me.0 -

Sorry, I don't follow. Which post? I am the policy holder. The only issue they have is the sports coach debate.0
