I've been a bit terrible at updating y diary lately, the days have been flying and there do not seem to be enough hours in the day.
Anywho, I've had a couple of little victories:
1) I have 408 pounds left over n my Budget last month. I split it between OP, Yearly Bills and my rainy day fund.
2)Total OP for August came to £403.44
3)I finally have a washing machine again!
5) I just saved £131.53 on my home insurance, and I paid it upfront so I won't be paying and insurance interest
Hopefully this good going can continue!MFW Start:[STRIKE] Sep 2014 - £110,844[/STRIKE], July 2019 New Home £190,995

Hello all,
Well....my good going has faltered somewhat and I have been incredibly naughty!! September is a month for spending money it would seem...
Firstly, my friend in America whom I haven't seen for 2 years has invited me out on a bit of a whirlwind tour of 3 states in 2 weeks, I only had to get my flights (5 flights in total, phew!) and bring some spending money as she has sorted the accommodation. This was an offer too good to refuse and I CAN'T WAIT to see her again. I've spent £700 on flights so far, but I still have one set to get and the train ticket to London, so I think it'll come to around the £1k mark on that. Thankfully I still have rather a lot of dollars from my travels in Africa for work, so I should be pretty much sorted on the spending money front.
Secondly I was at a women's festival this weekend gone and I was incredibly naughty and spent £250 on lots of lovely things for myself.
I have a few more fun things booked for the next couple of weekends too....oh well. You've got to enjoy yourself as well I guess, and I am £2k ahead on my mortgage payments.....I still feel incredibly guilty though!
I'm going to try to be as frugal as possible for the weekdays between my jaunts at the weekends, going to use up all my goodies in the freezer etc.
Hope everyone is doing well!MFW Start:[STRIKE] Sep 2014 - £110,844[/STRIKE], July 2019 New Home £190,995

Oooh I can feel myself slipping into naughty ways! Bad Runders!
However, I have just realised I have had my house for just over a year now, so I've decided to put the two mortgage figures down here to spur me on:
September 2014 £110844
September 2015 £105329.87
Paid off: £5514.13
If I can achieve the same payment figure for the coming year, then I'll make my two year target.

haha I've just realised that 'slipping into naughty ways' sounds a bit mills and boons esque, or at least what I would imagine mills and boons esque to be! This could of course just be my offshore mind at work....
LuckyinLife: 'I'm back to my old tricks of 'oh I'll just treat myself to this, well going out for dinner 3 times in a week isn't so bad, oh shiny silver..I want!' etc.
I will try to curb that this weekend though when I visit my friend. I haven't seen him for ages as we both work at sea and he is looking forward to having many beverages. Instead of us heading out to the pub and spending a fortune though, I am going to take the airmiles gin that arrived at my house the other day. Hello all,
Just a quick update, I switched my energy to a cheaper provider yesterday which should save me around £100
I also have £15 from my penny pot to go towards the OP this month.
Hopefully I'll get a few bits and bobs on ebay this evening. I have some boots and jeans to sell.MFW Start:[STRIKE] Sep 2014 - £110,844[/STRIKE], July 2019 New Home £190,995

Hi Runders, sounds like things are generally going in the right direction! We are in the process of switching energy supplier as well, it looks like you have as many things to save for house wise as we do!! I always find it hard to decide how much should go to which pot!0

Hi FacelessNumber, they were generally going in the direction indeed Oh I know the pain with the 'pots' issue. It seems my list of things to do in the house is forever growing as well. I am hoping to have a sofa soon! haha.

Hey all,
I've been slacking with my diary lately, mainly due to never seeming to have enough time. I feel like there is a mischievous time Imp who makes my free time whiz by.
I need to re-do my monthly budget to account for going back to a personal trainer. I had a diagnosis for my back about a month ago now, and so I seriously need to sort out my fitness. It's an expensive option, but with my back it seems it's going to be the safest way for me to try and get fit. The PT I use is good and he is working in conjunction with my Physio. I just need to figure out where I can make the other cuts to make the money for this.
I've let my batch cooking slip a little as well, so I need to make an effort with that. I have some mince in the freezer begging me to turn it into tasty things.
I only have the £15 extra to add to my regular OP this month, but it's still something!
Hope you are all doing well.MFW Start:[STRIKE] Sep 2014 - £110,844[/STRIKE], July 2019 New Home £190,995
