We had raclette for dinner just yesterday. We did the traditional cheese/potatoes/cold meats/salad/pickles thing, but in the past we have done a whole mexican meal on there which worked really well.
Mine has a traditional pierrade stone on top rather than a non stick tray, which we use for slivers of meat, prawns veg etc.
It's one of my favourite meals, and very sociable. Proper raclette cheese can be hard to get round here, but the cheese stall at Bury market always has some, and very reasonably priced.0 -
Lucie, I would have loved one with a stone but they cost £69.99 which was a bit much for me to spend on an impulse buy. Can I ask what cheese you use if you can't get raclette cheese?
I've just been messing around on google and found a great recipe search for raclette....select the ingredients you'd like to use and it comes up with lots of yummy looking recipes. Can you tell I'm excited and can't wait to play with my new toy!

:rotfl: If you don't have enough room Pink, I'll look after it for you
hmm don't know where I'll put it however :rotfl: space is an issue here too, OS boards fault!
Some places do it online but can be VERY expensive www.norbitoncheese.co.uk for example is £16/kg, if you have a International Market nearby they tend to do the cheese on the stalls in the one that comes to our town. One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200

Wonder if the breadmaker will mind being used on the floor
, it's about the only thing I can move, well that or see if there is a cupboard for the SC to hide in when I am not using it, then bring a raclette out in it's place, hmm, will have a think tomorrow. If I can think of somewhere to keep it will push my luck and see if they are still doing the discount tomorrow, or try to find it cheaper
PS don't marry me off, I'm not that crazy
Double PS  thought this site was moneysaving, all I seem to do is be tempted to spend it, seriously there are DEMONS in here! One day I might be more organised...........

Well it's tomorrow, sort of, and it's still on offer. No chance I am playing £9.95 postage if you got it cheaper so going to phone tomorrow
Right now all I need is a plan to get him out of the house while I order it, got to be something he needs to go out for, then I canhopefully he'll be in bed when it arrives (he likes sleeping) and I can just pretend I've had it for AGES
