We have one and my son loves it.

We get a french stick and cut it into 1/2 inch slices. You grill them underneath and then top with cheese, ham, salami, baby tomatoes or anything. On the top we stuck small bits of bacon & mini sausages. We have also used prawns and even mince made into tiny flat meatballs. Delicious.

Then you can have slices of pineapple on the top for pud!

oh i like the idea of the flat meatballs and good ideal i have some mini sausages will give them a try

i have just the top part no grill on mine so need ideas for things to cook on the top.

  • My favourite is to slice cold boiled potatoes, lay a slice of ham, sausage or similar over and then top with grated/sliced cheese. Two minutes to warm through then tip out onto your plate, reload your own little raclette dish, and tuck in.

    .
oh i wonder if i can do something like that on the top bit sounds just my thing yum

:o Can honestly say I'd never even heard of them, looks good however, wonder how much DP would moan if I bought another kitchen 'gadget' :rotfl: I was looking at a friend's mini oven today, they look really handy too.
One day I might be more organised...........

I went to a raclette party years ago and thought how great they were but they were too expensive for me to justify back then. If they're getting cheaper now I shall aquire one I think:rotfl:

    Hi Angelraesunshine,

I didn't have one but after reading this thread I've just ordered this one from www.cafe-raclette.com It's reduced from £49.95 to £39.95 until tomorrow. When I phoned he was prepared to do reduce the postage if I was happy for it to be delivered by Royal Mail rather than a courier.

I can't wait for it to arrive now!

:( why is it when I want something I've just spent on something else, nearly £500 on a new oven so a big spend too, then someone posts the link to tease me :( nasty nasty Pink! We love Fajitas especially, pancakes etc aswell so would be a perfect thing for us. Oh well, maybe DP would have a hissy fit anyway if I spent any more this month I think :rotfl:

    Sorry lil_me :o

I have to admit to telling Mr Pink a little white lie...I told him that I bought it with the money his mum sent me for my birthday. It'll be a while before he realises that it actually cost a little bit more than £25. :D

  • My friend has one and did some lovely marinated kebabs on it. I honestly haven't got kitchen room for one but it's made me feel very peckish indeed!
