Isn't the fact that the LL wants his house back a good enough reason?
There are far tougher terms of engagement if you want to start, say, a bank, or an energy company, or something far less onerous than controlling where people live.
It's hardly overbearing by the state. If it were you have the beloved ECoHR to pass judgement.
As said, if you don't like it, leave it to others that do.0 -

No it isn't, unless it's the end of the term or you make it worthwhile for the tenants.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Its amazing isn't it OP.., other countries have far more stringent laws regarding what is allowable by LL's .., and they have even higher proportions of people renting rather than buying their own houses. So perhaps your view is that of someone who is a player rather than a professional LL.0

Could all u above explain why you're pleased?
Where are u all going to live if no private LLs?
Good LLs will see no harm in these measures.Bloody tenants will have more security of tenure than hard-working mortgage payers!
I must have missed the announcement that not paying your rent is no longer a reason to lose your tenancy
Not paying your mortgage is the only way to lose your house in the private sector.
So slightly overstating your point.0 -

^^^^This, in spades.
Most professional LLs would jump at the chance to prove they know what they're doing in their market, and hoover up the chaff.
Seems the OP is far from wheat. Time they quit by the sounds of it.0
