Afternoon all
Dont normally get the chance to visit twice in aday but DH has taken DD to the park to run off some energy. While they've been gone I've put all the washing away and emptied the ironing basket. All our stuff is sorted for morning apart from the pack up but DH will sort that while I do a quick tidy and floor brush when DD is in bed.
The dinner is in the oven, Roast chicken with Roast garlic new potatoes and Strawberries and ice-cream for dessert. I'm just relaxing with a small gin and orange.
Have to say life is good apart from going back to work tomorrow but I'm resigned to that, think there will be tears from DD though when I have to leave her at grandma's.
Have a good evening everyoneSorting my life out one day at a time0 -
Hello again,
Joannasmum, we are also having roast chicken tonight, and its in the oven smelling delicious at the mo!!!
DSs footie match went really well - they won 12 - 0, DS scored one goal and set up quite a few others, i had a proud mummy moment at one point when he had the oppertunity to score, but saw another player in a better position and passed it to him to score, i always tell him that is just as important as scoring himself.
Nothing much else happening here, children are playing outside, its looking a bit grey, but no rain thankfully.
Ok, off to look at the comp board, and finish the roast - starting to feel hungry now!!!
Have a lovely evening,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Went and had a nap, DH kept on cleaning; he *likes* to clean. I've taken the cheesecake out of the freezer, need to adjust the recipe as its too hard to cut, Oh well, its low fat, low calorie made from quark + yogurt, so if we have to eat big pieces......
And its now thunderstorming here, but in fits + starts.
And frogga, my cakes arent' vicious! but I can see how you could read it that way! THe rum cake was very rummy, DH really liked it, but I can't eat it anyway.0 -
I was wonderiong when I cooked that chicken, couldn;t remember, so I looked on here! KNew posting on here would come in handy. Off to eat dinner now - sausage pasta w/ tomato sauce + lots of veg.0

Well the day is drawing to a close, we are hoing to see the light show from the shooting stars but I fear there is too much light pollution, we will have to see.
The bacon joint was delicious, enough for a supper tomorrow and then to put in the freezer for when I can't be bothered to cook........and the veg from the allotment fantastic................
I have managed to do the pile of ironing and also sat and did some hand sewing for a couple of hours, just watching the best view in Britain, Rory Bremner has ours...........Edinburgh.............how I miss that wonderful city, hated the people but the city was beautiful...............in many ways I wish we had not left, but we did.........
Tomorrow another lottie visit, we have not had any rain so I will have to do duty with the hose and watering cans again...............a fairly quiet week in view until Friday when I meet my friend from Canada and go to the show at Birmingham.................
Think I need a glass of wine, so will go and raid the wine rack, we only have red left......never mind aye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!September grocery budget........trying for £80, not sure if I will make it though!!!!! I certainly did not last month, lost track of the final bill. Will do better this month honest.

Evening all,
Didn't manage to post yesterday because I was away most of day at aunt's birthday lunch...2 hour drive, picking up another cousin on the way, a widow who never had children and who now lives on 20 odd acres with her three horses, five cats and two Irish Setters and intends making a will leaving all she owns to the cats and dogs home, not to her three brothers or two nieces and nephew! She is never ready to go anywhere so our drive took 3 hours!
The party was lovely there were around 40 there...sons, daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, we have all agreed that it was lovely to see each other not at a funeral and that we should do the same at least once a year...not sure how many more gatherings my aunt will be at...she is 98, quite well just very forgetful and consistently thinks that her 36 year old granddaugther is me...not very flattering for poor Dervil!
Didn't do very much today...still tired from the drive and all the talking. Went to airport with DD2 and DGD1 this morning, had coffee and croissant in Starbucks and replaced black and photo printer cartridges. Did a little knitting this pm and read some of the Sunday paper and was only too willing to agree that we have some Chinese takeaway for supper....feeling guilty at spending the money but it was delicious!
JackieO, Annistar, Queenie, and all who haven't been around for a while.....hugs and positive thoughts.
PenPin, hope that your hospital visit to-morrow will result in some relief for you.
Welcome to the newbies, be warned that this site is addictive...but you will like it here.
Hugs to anyone who needs one
