  • Good morning, everyone! I slept well, too, helped on by the bottle of Champagne bought by DH for our anniversary Thank You all for your good wishes :A ). He cooked a lovely barbeque (rare steak from the butcher and veg from the garden) and I cooked scones with HM strawberry jam and clotted cream. I think if ever I lose my job I'm moving to Lanhydrock to make scones for the National Trust :rotfl: :rotfl:

Been up for an hour, tidying up downstairs. It's lovely to have everyone back, but 4 people make so much clutter  We were out in the garden all day yesterday, so no idea where it's all from

DD is still very poorly. She spent most of the day in bed, and hardly ate anything (kept giving her drinks, and liquidy food such as soup and rice pudding). She has a really sore throat and her glands are up. She can't even concentrate on reading, so she took some of the newspaper, and sone story CDs to listen to.

Bit wet, here, but DH and I are going out again. He's building me a curved trellis, so I'm assisting him, and moving plants.

Have a great day, Penny. x

    morning all.

AIME - i heard the fireworks too! they woke me up and i slept badly on and off after that.

lounging around with no motivation atm and just about to make my 3rd cup of tea. kids are playing with the kittens, they are growing so fast and are 8 weeks old on wednesday!

my house is a mess and in a fit of desperation yesterday i went back to flylady.net to gain some inspiration. i have been flying for six years but sometimes i slip back (usually summer holidays). but i figure the house isnt going to stay tidy until september lol

today we are going up to arundel cricket club (not the duchess ground at the castle but the smaller one) as the boys dad has organised a "faces from the past" day, and loads of the cricket players from the last thirty years are playing in a special game, should be some faces i havent seen in quite a long time. the boys play for the colts team and their grandad is chairman so its quite a family affair. there is going to be a bouncy castle for the kids too so should be a good afternoon.

    breakfast - cereal
lunch - sarnies and cup a soup
dinner - its sunday so its something with eggs day:D

    have a great day all

  • Good morning everyone

Sorry so many of you had a bad night last night. I actually had 7 hours undisturbed sleep, which is a record for me. Feel better for it though still feel there is something wrong with being up so early on a Sunday.

No set plans today. Only me here so I can suit myself. I may wander into town later and visit the library. Have no books to read so may pick up a few. Think I will also ask if they offer work experience as DS has to get something organised for early next year. He has to do a two-week work placement and most of them have to find their own placement. DS hasn't had any luck yet with the ones he was interested in so we are spreading the net a little wider now.

Amie hope the caffeine kicks in and you are able to enjoy your barbecue.
mrs mix a day off from any housework sounds like a good idea. It may just help your joints too. ;)

odds-n-sods we tend to have trouble at the weekends with wing mirrors being pulled off or windscreen wipers. The vandals in this case? The pride of Britain - our university students! They go out to the pub, get really drunk then feel the need to vandalise cars or set fire to wheely bins on their way home. All the trouble stops out of term times.
dlb my DD nagged me for years to get her ears pierced. I finally gave in, she got them done then after one lobe got a slight infection (because she wasn't cleaning them properly) she decided it was too much trouble and let the holes heal over. You may want to buy lots of spare earrings in the same style as DD seemed to lose one of every set so never had a matching pair.

Sausage, egg and beans for breakfast. Lunch will be a salad sandwich and I have no idea what I will be having for dinner yet.

    Have a super Sunday. xx

Sympathies to those who didn't sleep well - I got a text and four/five phone calls from a number I don't know at 1am! I was not a happy bunny. Up at 6am to come to work. Not happy here either, as some idiot has left complete rubbish for me, so I've got to re-do all of it, as I'm not having my name associated with that nonsence. Why do people get hired, when they're not capable of doing the job in hand????? Sorry rant over!

Had my hair cut last night and she went a bit mad, so I have very short hair to what I wanted:eek: Not sure if I like it yet.

Nice and sunny here at the moment, but we're meant to get showers. I've got a date at 2pm, so hoping the weather will stay nice and that he doesn't die laughing at my new look hair do:o

If I get home in time and have some energy left, I'll have a go at those weetabix brownies.

    Hope everyone's ok

    Morning All

Its rain here and has been all night, I have piles of ironing to do and a quick trip to Aldi for some emergency supplies that I didn't get yesterday. Its back to work tomorrow so I need to get all the clothes sorted. Apart from that we will have a lazy day, doing a roast for tea with local new pots and carrots, swede and brocolli.

    Morning all,

Sorry to those that had a disturbed night. I feel for you!

Well having spent a lot of yesterday attempting to sort the car boot stuff (we have LOTS of it) we gave up at 6 and went out to have a drink in the evening sun. That led to fish & chips and not a lot more work! OH doesn't usually drink but had 4 cans last night - had to laugh where he'd undressed - everything just DUMPED on the floor (so not him at all!). :rotfl:

Drizzling here now, and forecast is heavy showers so we've postponed booting until next weekend! At least the car will be packed ready! I finally managed to get the parking space right outside the door so that'll make things easier.

I used to think that moving house wouldn't be hard but having seen how much cr*p we have I'm now not sure at all!

No other news. Hope they get those flippin' teenagers. It makes me so angry that people seem to have no respect for others. How did this come about in just 10 yrs or so?

    Have a good one.

Morning all, sorry to hear so many have had bad nights.

I was at work yesterday. it so so hot. i was cleaning flats right at top on building with tiny windows and no breeze.but at least their brand new flats so there easy to clean.

anyway yesterday we laid laminate in the kids room , changed the whole room around and it looks so nice. today were laying laminate in the bathroom and hopefully soon our bedroom. were going for the beech cheapy stuff for upsatirs but we have seen some gorgeous proper wood flooring for the downstairs. i'm so excited. i also painted my kitchen , feela bit sad as i had gorgeous pink bits and it looked so pretty and girly. but i been waiting to find some tiles to finish off my kitchen and couldn't find any. now i have and they don't match . so i thought i'd paint the kitchen so they would match. hopefuul that will get some soon.

i've also just emptied the DW and WM is on. although it is getting cloudier by the min.

Breakkie today is breakfast wraps. which is tortilla wraps with fried egg , bacon , sausages and mushroom in.. there scrummy.

Lunch will be just some fruit or light snack maybe as the wraps are really filling.
Tea , yipppeee yipeee i'm doing roast beef. been ages since i've done a proper roast. i've got a huge beef joint , pots , yorkies , stuffing , carrots , broc , cabbage and leeks. so looking forward to it. and jelly and ambrosia for pudding. kids are loving jelly.

after that prob won't be able to move so might chill and watcha dvd.

we watched miss potter last sunday. it's a fantastic film.

    Enjoy ur day everyone.

Sympathies to those with agro neighbours/bored/drunk individuals we have a small park at the top of our road and had a lot of trouble last year and early this Summer. Eventually after many calls to non emergency police number and communinty police it's calmed down. The biggest difference was made by the the local genuine kids and families reclaiming it and playing footie and cricket there.

Anyway enough of local politics. I'm back on the DFW/OS wagon, slipped off so many times and bouncing back again.

I am full of positive energy today. This is my third no-spend-day in a row and I'm up for a spot of flyladying too. I will have to summon up something to clean the BBQ after last night but it will lead to cleaning the bathroom afterwards.

Slightly overcast here in Dorset, hoping it blows away quickly.
Planning a late full English for breakfast (nobody up yet !)
Rubber chicken roast tonight - only two meals to cook, more time for flyladying :)

    Have a good day all

pouring with rain here today, again :(
plans for today. need to go shopping for school clothes and shoes. have ordered DS trousers from Next online (used quidco ;)) because they never seem to have his size in store (not just Next either). he needs a 30" waist and is nearly 6 foot tall :)

fridge is empty so some food shopping too. but just enough to get us through today and tomorrow. always find shelves are pretty empty on Sundays.

then in between all that will feed the washer and drier. and might think about ironing....probably that will be as far as it goes...thinking ;)
